Pedal does everything everybody says it does, but IF YOU'RE PLAYING A HIGH GAIN SOUND, there is a vibrating ring-out sound that precedes any hammering stops (or rests). It's definitely from the pedal, I tested it over and over. If playing low-gain music, this pedal definitely does it's job, but any high gain music, forget about tight stops.

The Electro-harmonix hum debugger has made it fun to play my single-coil pickup guitars again. It seems to keep on analyzing anything in the signal that is a 60-cycle hum, then it puts the right amount of reverse hum into the signal. Hum plus anti-hum equals silence. When I change the guitar's volume control you can hear a little hum for 1/2 second until the unit reacts. It doesn't seem to affect the guitar's tone compared to any other solid-state pre-amp. In other words all stomp boxes will give a brighter tone that plugging a guitar straight into a tube amp. This is so much better that noise-gate style "noise eliminators." When they let the guitar signal through, it has the hum with it. The Electro-Harmonix hum debugger gives a pure guitar tone with the hum removed.

The Hum Debugger is fantastic, cancells all hum without robbing you of your tone. It also comes with nice AC Power Adapter so you don't have to worry about batteries. I highly recomend this, it is flawless!

This pedal is incredible. It's not a noise gate, so it doesn't rob your tone. It's not some tricky compression, so it's transparent. Chords ring out indefinitely, and your sound is preserved...all the while that annoying hum from the guitar is completely (well almost completely) disposed of. I have no idea how they do it, but it very much lives up to its name and really brings your playing to the forefront and leaves that annoying buzz behind. If you're thinking about it, definitely get it. Be warned though, you need to use the adapter that it comes with, and it will not work with batteries or a normal 9V adapter (but the adapter is included and is quite small).

First, what this is not- this will not remove the noise from an effects pedal or clean up tube humm in the EH Wiggler or other tube driven effect. Conisder using an effects loop for that. It will however perfectly remove the 60 cycle hum from single coil pickups in strat positions 1,3 and 5 or perhaps P-90's on an old Les Paul. So if you value hot Tex Mex single coils or a vintage P-90 this will allow you to keep that specific tone intact without moving to noiseless pickups.
