not bad for the money

this pedal is not an actual distortion pedal it's more of an overdrive. i can understand why so many people would give it bad reviews. but before you send it back, trade it in, throw it away, etc. try it simply as a light overdrive, i mean just enough to slightly color your tone when it's on. my friend has one and at first we really didn't care too much for it but after awhile we realized how to actually use it. he uses it as a base for his dirty tone and to color his clean tone a bit. i considered getting one but already have an ehx graphic fuzz that i use in a similar manner (except it has more gain and the ability to sculpt any tone you could ever need).

I love this thing. I run it straight into a number of different Tube amps. In Single mode it really drives the Preamp wonderfully - pushing it just enough without adversely coloring the tone. Single mode works great with both low gain and high gain tube amps. The Double mode adds more overdrive plus some delicious fuzz the EH is known for. It

This particular pedal is one I don't like to drive a ton with. I use it on single with Muff 1 at about 8 or 9 o'clock. That sound with a tele and some delay is the best sound I've hear from this pedal. great atmospheric sounds. Really, its a great pedal for the light warm drive. You cant go wrong with this pedal and a tele. It doesn't drive to the point where you cant hear the sounds and nuance of the guitar. Its a great value. I get a little buzz out of it, but nothing too terrible, most likely because I don't drive it all that much. The more you drive, the more you buzz. I give it a thumbs up. if you want more drive similar to this sound, pick up a proco Rat. Great pedal.

I'm only a teenager, but I know a good sound when I hear it. If you believe the advertising, you will be VERY dissapointed. This is more of a boost pedal. By itself, its not the greatest sound in the world. Very buzzy. However, if you know what your doing, you can expirement with different dist. Pedal combos-using this as a boost. I play a Danelectro '59 and a strat into a vintage '69 fender super reverb. This pedal sounds good when used as a boost with a EHX metal muff (at low gain) overall it is a good pedal if you know what you are doing...

Don't Believe the Clips

I've seen false advertising before, but the video of the blonde guy in the sport coat may just take the cake. This isn't really a distortion pedal, as you're led to believe by the video and sound clips. It's more of a boost that is best used BEFORE your overdrive. In the video, he makes it look like it's all this pedal, but it's absolutely NOT. The "break" you hear is this pedal. The "crunch" you hear is probably the overdrive on the amp he's using, but conveniently avoiding mentioning. This thing is mainly a pickup/treble boost. That said, it's a darn good one...but if you're expecting a distortion pedal, you're going to be VERY disappointed. That's why my rating's so low...the lie of the sale is worse than if it'd just been a bad pedal.
