Awesome! Tone off, Wicker on. Thats all you need to know. With the tone off it cleans up the sound enough that you can actually use it for something other than a blanket of mush. If you are into the Silversun Pickups tone look no further. The best part is its so versitle, it can go right back to the original sound as well!

This is the best muff out of all of them! The Tone/Wicker options are great! With the Tone turned off this thing cuts through the mix awesomely! Beats out many boutique pedals and for a fraction of the price!

I ordered this to replace my large big muff to create more space on my pedalboard, but I was extremely disappointed. Do yourself a favor and at least test it against the original. You don't get the depth in the sound and the wicker just essentially makes it a distortion sound (versus a thick fuzz-- EH calls it a distortion pedal, but c'mon we all know it's a fuzz) which I already have. It's definitely more versatile, but if you're looking for that classic fuzz sound, go with the original.

I bought this pedal the day it came out. I am a long time fan of the big muff sound. The tone control on this new one seems slightly more even and responsive, could be just my experience with older ones, but it's a good thing. Smaller than it looks, so it fits easily among others. Solid build, no pops, etc. As claimed, does old school muff, with a switch to drop out the tone control. This creates an immediate signifigant increase in overall volume/perceived gain. Maybe they should have called it a "Hulk" switch...transforms the old muff into a raging wall of raw fuzz distortion beast, then your amp eq does the rest. The "tone wicker" is much more subtle, adds brightness and presence/trims out the attack mud that originals had at bass tone settings, but retains that low end presence/grind. Makes finding that sweet spot much easier. Produces some strange ultra raspy fuzz at odd settings, not ugly, just bizzaro cool. I really can't find a down side with the tones twekaed out so far. For fans of the big muff sound, punk/grunge/rock/heavy music in general this is a great pedal to own. I love mine so far.
