this thing is the best

i just picked this up today and i've only fiddled with it for about an hour or so and some of the sounds you can get from this thing. wow. so cool. i was able to get a ring modulator sound from this thing, i had the delay rate and repeats set really low on reverse echo and if you tweak it enough you can get that sound.

every time i would change a single parameter on the pedal it would change the sound completely and give me something new to experiment with, i came up with a lot of cool stuff with a micro q-tron infront of it, wicked pedal to begin with.

i tried a bunch of delay pedals before buying this one, even the other electro harmonix ones too, and for the price tag, you get the most bang for your buck. the thing that sold me was that it has the accuracy of a digital delay as well as the warmth and character of an analog delay. perfect hybrid. buy this pedal, you won't be disappointed, this thing will keep you entertained and inspired for days and days.

Almost perfect

When I first bought this thing I was really psyched because now I had a knarly delay, and an amazing 30 second performance looper for stage use because I use a lot of overlapping and looping being the only guitarist in my group. So I was really excited, and was not let down, because of the ridiculous amount of possible delays you can create with this pedal. But here is where the fun stops. This thing KILLS TONE. That killer tone that you dialed in on your amp or with other 3rd party pedals goes POOF as soon as you click this thing on. not to mention that it lowers the volume of your signal when you put it on. This takes away most of the possibility of using the pedal live. It's tragic because of the caliber delay that it is. I'm definitely not sending it back because its a great pedal, but I'll be finding a new live delay pedal.

This thing is absolutely wild... can get some cool reverb sounds out of it, as well as weird robot noises, underwatery type sounds, oscalations, jet engine sounds... whatever... it is pretty digital sounding when you use the filters, but the simple delays are nice... but this pedal is anything but simple. I would get this if you're into spacey, crazy tones like I am.

Fun, but impractical

This pedal has a lot of features, and many of them are quite fun to tweak around with, in particular the reverse delay, but one of the things you cannot do with this pedal is simply turn it on and have a good delay sound. Every knob is very touchy, and unless you know exactly what you're doing, you could be wanting to turn it on and get a nice subtle echo, and instead get a radically mid boosted quacky throbbing delay that won't stop repeating.

This pedal simply has too many features in it to truly be useful.

The Memory Man was a pedal I had my eye on for a while and it seemed like a good choice for my keyboard rig, It gives great reverbed delay but the multi-tap is very difficult to get a nice clean tone, if you want conventional delay that will give you lovely multi-tap thats crisp and clear, get a DD-7 but if you want to push the envelope and get crazy reverse, and shimmering reverberated delays with the blend mode all the way up, you get a great sound. plus the looping feature it great you can make some pretty mean sounding loops with this thing, and it's really easy to use.
