great octaver pedal...

i've had this pedal for alittle over a year now and i feel like i'm comfortable enough with it to write a review. I wanted a simple octave pedal, and always loved the POG, but it was to complex. When i saw a review for the micro-POG, i tried it out and was blown away. Its very simple to use, but VERY versatile. I use it with my piezo bridge on my schecter to get 12-string acoustic sounds... i use just the octave down or octave up to get crazy phsychodelic stuff... and my favorite, crank all 3 knobs and do volume swells for a sweet organ sound! Alittle pricey, but its a great quality pedal. If it was ever lost or stolen i would DEFFINATELY replace it. Great job EHX!!

The EHX Micro Pog is an excellent octaver, and a valuable tool for anyone that doesn't want to buy a bass or 12 string guitar. The thing is built like a tank, too. It's very simple to use; just dry, sub octave and octave up knobs. It doesn't sound artificial or hollow. It'll hit your wallet pretty hard, but for this price, you'll get a terrific pedal.

This is a really sweet pedal, nothing else I have seen or used has done what this does, and never in such a small casing. I can get realistic 12-string tones, or just add in a little octave up and make my signal get some jangle. The lower octave knob is really versatile and can really add depth to the guitar tone. Overall, an excellent unique pedal.

Got my Micro POG in the mail yesterday, and it was like Christmas! Wow. Love it. I tried this out on my 4-string bass and can't believe the sound quality. I almost rated the Value as a "4" because I'm a bit of a cheapskate and I wish this was priced like the BOSS counterpart, but I'm not sending it back! Having 3 dials is perfect for me as I don't have time to fiddle around in between songs (I don't have the luxury of a bass tech to tweak my knobs). Tried out all possible combinations and was thrilled at the tracking accuracy on this unit - this was proven by turning the dry signal all the way down and soloing the sub and octave above dials. It tracked my notes all the way down to my low E, but I honestly don't plan to use it for that sub sub stuff. Just not my preference. I do have a 5-string as well and will have to check it out. Can't wait to try it out on my 6-string guitar as well as in combination with my other bass pedals (Russian Big Muff and then an autowah/env filter that are on the way). I'm not having any trouble with this unit powered by my Visual Sound 1 SPOT Combo Pack, as I noticed another poster mentioned his pedal board gave him problems. My sole guitarist is glad that I'll be able to fatten up my sound behind his leads.

This is a nice unit. The upper register is alittle to "Syn" for my taste. I also own a Boss Octave pedal, and this unit handles the higher stuff better than the Boss. The Boss has very good low register. Both together create some interesting sounds! I believe Im on the brink of purchasing the Digitec Harmonizer that is getting real good reviews. The Pog is built like a tank! So is the Boss. I hear the Digitec is not built as well. But the audio samples Ive heard using the Digitec are awesome. The Pog is a good unit, and reasonably priced. I used it for a year and it never let me down. It was alittle sensitive with the power source. I had to use a wall-wart because my pedal-board power would not power it correctly. All in all, this is a very reliable, well built, easy to operate unit. No learning curve involved. Its alittle pricey for its limited use. I would recommend saving your bucs and get the Digitec Intelligent Harmonizer. Its tracking is excellent, it sounds great, and you can use it as a "lush" chorus sound too, which I luv to use. The Digitec could replace up to 3 of my pedals. That alone would pay for it. The Pog is for the musician with limited resources, and not much need for harmony guitar, but would like the option on occasion.
