Each of the Tourmaster 4100 amp head's channels has an identical set of controls, but that is where the similarities end.
Clean/Vintage 1 is the cleanest of the four. Within this channel lives a range of Classic tones ranging from pristine sparkle with the voicing switch set to MODERN to a punchy, aggressive drive (think clean JTM) in the CLASSIC mode. Pressing the button to activate the CONTOUR control opens an entire new range of beautiful clean, almost acoustic, tones not often found in a tube amplifier.
Clean/Vintage 2 has a very similar voicing to the Clean/Vintage 1 channel. This channel has more gain, so it can be pushed into mild overdrive. Sweet blues and classic rock tones are easily coaxed out of this channel. The contour knob adds another level of unique flavors.
Overdrive 1: From AC/DC crunch to modern rock, this channel covers a lot of bases all by itself. Dial down the gain and the feel is pure classic rock. Push the gain and enter into more modern, saturated territory. Scoop the mids with the CONTOUR control for monstrous metal or set it for classic British rhythm.
Overdrive 2: The Tourmaster's most intense channel, you'll find ferocious gain with a wide range of tones to suit the 80s shredder as well as the heaviest modern metal player. Scoop the mids with the powerful CONTOUR control for massive crunch or push the midrange for a solo tone that cuts through with serious authority.
Power Grid: This is a really cool feature you will only find on the Egnater Tourmaster amps. Using a group of 5 slide switches on the rear panel, you can set the power output for each channel individually. There is a 3-position slide switch corresponding to each of the four channels and a single FULL POWER/ HALF POWER slide switch. In FULL POWER mode, you can choose between 100w, 50w or 25w per channel. In the HALF POWER mode, you can between choose 50w, 25w or 10w per channel.
With the Tourmaster 4100 amp head, you not only have a wide array of tones available from the preamp channels, but with the Power Grid you can introduce any amount of power tube distortion you wish to each channel: all preset, all automatic.

Features: [1:Front Panel] Master Control includes Master Volume (Loudness), Spring Reverb, Density & Presence are work great but the only thing that's not enough is the Reverb, it' good not great.Nevermind the sound still awesome !!! [2:Back Panel] <2.1>Both Series & Parallel FX Loop are work great, they don't mess your awesome tone if you read "TM4100 User Manual".Series FX Loop needs the "Unity Gain" only that found in TM4100 User Manual/ Parallel FX Loop does not mess your tone.<2.2> Power Grid is the best of Amps world, it' very very useful to maintain your tone still great even if you play guitar at low volume (Loudness) or high volume..."Tip = The Lower Volume You Play, The Low Wattage You Use", for maintaining Bass & Treble still great.<2.3> Tube Bias no need to adjust if no problem in sound.<2.4> Direct Record Out is for your recording or to Mixer when you play live!!!.<2.5> Speaker Out 4, 8 & 16 Ohm w/t Selectable Switch is so good
Quality: Everthing works great, the sound awesome in every channel. No needs "Booster" or "Overdrive" pedal to increase sustain, because the "Gain Knob" in TM4100 is enough to obtain your sustain.TM4100 is the place that Modern & Classic were met...This is "Overall Amplifier".
Value: High-End(Quality) Amp But Low Price)...Don't Miss !!!
Overall: It's has no "Boost Switch", but don't worry, be happy because it's has more gain to use.

Let me first state that I have owned a b-52 AT100, a bogner, a 6505+ and not to mention a few crate and other solid state combo amps. Six plus years of playing guitar and dabbling in bass, I know good solid tone when I hear it. It seems like you must choose between punchy, warm, smooth, or saturated as the personality and voicing of your amp. A 6505 is too punchy, a bogner is too warm, and crate is always too saturated and fake for my liking. This Egnater though, if tone is the up most important thing to you then you will have little to complain about. 50% warm tone 40% in your face punch and 10% vintage voicing (its unmistakable and quite pleasing). I don't know much about vintage sounds and classic rock tone but I could definitely improvise my way into any 80s/70s metal band. I managed to get the exact sound that TOOL uses. However, the on board distortion CAN get mean and modern but it will give you ugly hum and buzz. almost as if it doesn't want to sound angry. Thats where preamp and pedal distortion comes into play. Combining my effects with the versatility of such an amp can keep a guy infatuated with the endless possibilities of tone. Perfect sparking cleans, to guttural death metal roar, what can be achieved with this is nothing short of jaw dropping! No, its not a 2000$ ENGL and no its not a priceless boutique combo amp. Its a working musicians tool that can create and amplify that perfect tone you have in your head. Quality through and through, armed with GT power tubes, a power selection grid. oh, and it looks nice too.

TONE MONSTER!!!!

This is a fantastic amp. Like all gearheads, I've owned Marshall, Mesa, Laney, Fender, Peavey, Bogner and on and on and on. I've been searching for my tone forever and all those other amps are good, but could never satisfy me fully. There was always something missing. The thing I like best about the Tourmaster is I don't have to fight it to get what I want. With all the other amps I've owned, they could do either a crunch/lead tone good or a nice clean, but never both. The Tourmaster is so versatile all four channels sound amazing and it's really easy to dial in. There are a lot of features which at first glance can be overwhelming, but once you start tweaking it, you see how effortlessly it responds. The EQ and Contour knobs are very responsive and actually do something good. In fact, I can dial in many different tones on just one channel and they're all usuable. Another great thing about this amp is how well it sits in the mix when playing live. I don't care if this is made in China, a good amp is a good amp, period!!!

This amp has an enormous variety of bells and whistles but some are much louder than others
I gave this amp a 3.5 for features because it has a ton of features but many aren't necessary. It has a separate 3 band eq and gain control for each of the four channels which is great and you can find some great sounds on all four. Unfortunately the main feature to lower and raise the wattage does nothing. With a very discerning ear you will notice a slight difference but don't buy this head for this. The contour switch is useful but you will have to adjust your eq settings to make it sound good. The FX loop is good, versatile and footswitchable. The reverb... just get a better one.
For quality I said 4.5 because I haven't had any issues with it breaking down. It is made in china but if that is your concern don't buy anything ever.
For value I gave it a 2.5 This amp has plenty of volume, options, 4 channels and sounds but none of them really sing. Take what you have saved for this save for a few more months and buy a mesa, engl, vht, diezel, super lead or something with monster tone.
Bottom line this is a decent amp that sounds good if you put some boutique effects in your signal path to make up for it's shortcomings.

I Finally Sound Like ME

This amp REALLY deserves the highest marks in ALL categories.
Going down the list:
Features: Find me an amp with better features, and features that are actually useful. Not gonna happen.
Quality: Built like a brick s***-house, very attractive looking and VERY well built, almost no noise; zero tube rattle, no issues whatsoever, crisp and defined at ANY volume.
Value: To get tube tone this good any other way you need to shell out a LOT more money for the likes of Orange, Marshall, Mesa, or something custom made. EVERY musician I've played this thing with has congratulated me on finding the PERFECT tone. When I tell them how little I paid they get angry.
Overall: What's not to love? The ONLY thing I'm not wild about (hence the 4.5) is that this thing weighs about as much as a marble tombstone. It is HEAVY and as a result pretty hard to transport unless you got a buddy helping you. I've been using a luggage-dolly and that's good enough to get it out the door; but it REALLY ought to have side handles even on the head, it's a bit awkward to maneuver.
I've had mine for about 3 weeks, and I have tried numerous times and FAILED to find a sound I didn't like out of this amp. The cleans are just buttery smooth and perfect. The overdrives can get you just about any sound you could possibly want; excluding maybe death-metal for tone-def teenagers; and hey, with the right pedal I'm sure you could get all that too.
Aside from the really useful and practical features, the beautiful tone, and the attractive looks, I think the best thing the Egnater Tourmaster 4100 Head has going for it is that it's truly a player's amp. It's extremely versatile. You can dial in some satisfying tones RIGHT out of the box; OR you can spend weeks tweaking every knob and flicking every switch to find some truly original sounds. It's also the MOST responsive amp I've ever played in terms of how it reacts to the subtleties of your pick-attack and changes in the guitar's volume and tone knobs. It's also one of the few amps I've ever encountered that produces EQUALLY satisfying jangly sparkling Strat tones AND growling, chugging, snarling Les Paul tones. It's a beautiful playground for Single Coil OR Humbucker-equipped guitars.
In short, there's a tone in here for every style and guitar sound you could want, from BB King to Angus Young to Kurt Cobain to Jimi Hendrix and all points in between. If there's a tone you can't find in this amp; it's probably YOUR fault.
Anyway I couldn't be more satisfied. I'm turning 30 in a few weeks and I wanted a reward for myself so I picked this up. My other amps are getting REALLY lonely since this one showed up. At 10 watts it's the sweetest sounding living-room friendly practice amp I've ever had. At 50 watts it sounds nice and full in the band practice room and cuts through the mix with authority. At 100 watts you could probably bring down airplanes. I can't think of a playing situation where this amp wouldn't get the job done from jamming with your buddies at home to melting faces off at a club or theater.
