This red, black and white ash-body guitar has been put through an astounding aging process to replicate the original down to every last scratch, ding and cigarette burn. Fender craftsmen even scoured the land for 1971 quarters—just like the original Eddie stuck under the original tremolo bridge near the Floyd Rose® Original tremolo bridge. The guitar features a Seymour Duncan® Custom Shop EVH® humbucking pickup, a single master volume knob (that's labeled "Tone") mounted on a partial black pickguard identical to the original. Replicating the original, there's a non-functional three-way switch and single-coil pickup that occupy two of the three pickup cavities.


It's a phenomenally crafted piece of rock history—of guitar history, period—and it could only come from Eddie Van Halen and the talented resources of Fender. I bought this guitar shortly after being frustrated with the unreliable and flimsy construction of my B.C. Rich Warlock. The second after I got it out of the box I put it through thousands of tests: I threw it down the stairs, drove over it in my car, and dropped it out my window. This baby held up GREAT! I can't figure out how to put the neck back on though, and I still cant find the volume knob...

Well, i have to start by saying this is by far a very good investment. My friend and fellow musician John Daker enlightened me to this beautiful axe and i have not yet been dissapointed. This is slightly better than my original guitar (squier strat). So far i have melted the faces off the many people who have witnessed my band (Dean Mario & the Magicians) play various night clubs and small venues on the downtown dearborn strip. I highly advise this guitar for guitar players looking to move a step up on the rungs of coolness.

I've heard about this guitar and after seeing it in person the other day I agree with the guy who had 4 of them; its not a players guitar; it's just for show, something you put on your wall in a glass case. From what I saw the replication job was amazing, the detail goes as far as little bits of dirt being on it. But what made this guitar special is the guy who played it, eddie van halen. People should buy a guitar that suits them, their style and personality not a someone else's. Plus who really wants to spend this kind of money on a guitar that just has a guitar god's name on it; but a fender or gibson or something for a few thousand, you'll like it loads more.

The reason I bought this guitar was because my great pyrenees knocked my Kirk Hammett Ouija Signature down the stairs. I've been playing those esp, ibanezes, and schecters for a while and really like the metal tone. So I was looking into new guitars and my son picked this one but I didn't like it so I bought it for him for his eighth birthday and I bought a dimebag dixie rebel.

Now many people will bash this guitar, personally if I had money I'd buy one. Some may see this and think "this guy is just nuts about Ed", true. But at the same time I use common sense when evaluating guitars. Features, it has everything you'd want from a Van Halen REPLICA guitar, it has every single feature Ed's does so its a perfect 5. If you want more versatility, instead of oh, say a 1971 quarter, then why are you buying a replica? Buy a strat and put the frankenstein humbuckers in. Quality, again this is a grade A mark for mark copy of the original so its perfect 5.0 quality. And value, lets see you get a perfect copy cheaper, 5.0 the Fender boys do good work.
