I think that this is a great guitar. its the 1st esp standard that ive ever played. it has a nice clean look and has good tone. i played it through a line6 spider lll combo amp. i realy think that esp should make an ltd or edwards version so an average player could afford it. all in all this is a great instrument.

i own a ESP M-2, witch is the same thing as thing just has two 81 emg's and a switch + flody rose. practicly the same thing. and i love her to death.i own gibsons to, this AXE is nice to play siting down or standing, very easy to reach all the frets. and you will fall inlove with the inlays, on the fret bord. truely an amazing product. only down fall is, you have to like the sound of EMG's. personly i love my passive picks ups, EMGS are always a nice change.

Regarding The ESP M-I Standard

Ok, now yes, I do not own this guitar but I know a lot about guitars and have listened to recordings of this one, and let me tell you this is a guitar of the highest quality and I am going to save every penny until I can afford one!!! First and formost, I love that this guitar does NOT have a tremolo, as its becomeing very hard to find a good metal guitar without one nowadays. It makes tuning, bends, and everything much easier and more convienient without out one. In my opinion the emg 81 sounds much better for clean sounds then the 85 in the bridge so to me there's absolultly no reason to have the bridge pickup there. The woods are all of the highest quality and ESP has a reputation of amazing construction, this is no doubt a superb example of this. I cannot say enough good things about this guitar, just please, do the world a favor and please, PLEASE go try one at your local guitar store!!!

I played this guitar at my local music store it was one of the best guitars Ive ever played until I saw the price tag. Its an amazing guitar but way out of a lot of people's price range if your gonna make a simple guitar at least make it a little affordable. Use rosewood instead of ebony find little ways to cut down on the price. Overall its an amazing guitar if you can afford it.

Why you should own an ESP M-I Standard NTB
Posted by Craig Strangelet from Kansas on Jun 27, 2008

The ESP M-I NTB has all you need to make a sonic splash! The money spent on this guitar is buying an incredible neck, not bindings or frills. The sustain is remarkable, and the note clarity is almost unbelievable. Even using high gain settings, each note is distinct and resonant. The M-I plugged straight into the front of a Peavey 6505+ is THE sound for metal, to my tastes! Palm muted passages are tightly machine gun staccato, yet high register leads are not strident. This is the best I've heard an EMG-81 sound. The price is a steal for an axe this talented. Get one now before ESP starts charging what its worth!
