The ESP LTD Viper-50 Electric Guitar is all about playability. The dual ESP LH-150 pickups buck 60-cycle hum, making them much quieter than single-coil pickups and more powerful. The 24-3/4" scale is slightly shorter than many electric guitars, making for less string tension and easier play. The LTD Viper-50 guitar's basswood body and maple neck with rosewood fretboard promise superb stability and long life.

ESP LTD Viper-50 Electric Guitar Features:

  • Basswood body
  • Bolt-on maple neck

A great starter axe. I've had this guy for about a year, and it's my beat-around practice guy. It looks great and plays well. The tuners are about what you'd expect for this price. The pick-ups are HOT. They're a bit muddy and off-sounding for clean, but hit the gain and this thing will scream. It's a metal machine for sure.

Downsides: Heavy. I've never found anything like it. It's deff. heavier than my LP. It tends to neck dive when you first play with it, but you quickly adjust to it and it hasn't been an issue for me. A great first guitar, and perfect for the metal maniac.

I think this guitar sounds great. Its stays in tune very well, and plays very well. You will get some fret buzzing till you play and set in the frets and put a good set of strings on it. bridge pickup crunches good, and the neck pickup gives a great blues sound. Honestly for the price i cant think of any thing to complain about it. Buy it you wont be disappointed.

I've had my Viper 50 for about 2 and a half years now. I won it in a contest on Ultimate-guitar. I have to say, back when I won it it was cheaper, and I think it was made out of agathis, not basswood. But that may have been a mistake in information. This guitar's tone is outstanding. Of course you can always get better than stock pickups, but for stock these rock. I play a Les Paul Special and this guitar and at times I have a hard time telling their tones apart this guitar is so good. It's 24 frets are a nice touch too. My only grievances with it are the bolt on neck and the machine heads. The bolt on you can't get around, but I would recommend getting some lock machine heads for it. Other than that, a great axe for the money!

Irecently picked this little beauty up at my local shop and I was definitly suprised at the sound and versatility of the viper this great for metal and hardcore. The clean tones do seem a bit muddy but the l-300's get the job done. Overall this is definetly the best metal guitar out there for the money. I would seriously recommend looking into buying this work of art.

Extremely easy to play. This is my first electric guitar and I have improved by leaps and bounds since going from accoustic to electric. This guitar is a joy to play.
