I picked up this guitar (with the other ESP pickups) and for a first 7 string it is amazing. I am going to upgrade it by Putting EMGs and Sperzels on it then it should be the perfect 7 string. Its also cheap so you dont have to worry about banging it or putting stickers on it (I will). I say get this now.

I started a metal band just to jam with my best friends, and play a few local shows, and just have some fun, so I bought a seven string, because a lot of my musical influences play them, and I wanted that same tone, and amount of heaviness. I was at first not sure what to get, and reading reviews led me to get this bad boy. It's great, and the neck is just right, a little thick, but nothing you can't get used to. The pick-ups are my biggest turn-off. Replace those with either the EMG-7, or do what I did and put in some Seymour Duncan Phase 2 Blackouts. It sounds great, and you'll be satisfied in no time. I love it!

I ordered this guitar, set it up when it came in, and have had absolutely No problems with it. The neck has a bit more meat to it than an Ibanez neck, say maybe closer in profile to a Schecter Hellraiser neck, but that makes it more playable, at least for me. The Pickups are not as bad as everyone seems to think they are, if you know how to properly set up your amp. The only problem I had with this guitar is that the fret ends could have been rounded off a little cleaner on the higher bottom side of neck. If you take your time, and take the precautions, you can easily fix this yourself. I've seen alot of people complaining about the fact that this guitar lacks a neck pickup.....People, This is Stephen Carpenters SIGNATURE model, he didnt want a neck pickup, hence there not being one. I bought this looking for a good replacement 7 string for my Ibanez RG7621, and ended up preferring this guitar over the latter. I would def. recommend this guitar to anyone who is looking for a good, decent priced, well equipped 7 string, be it a first or a back-up.

I just got mine from a local guitar store (cheaper than here) and it is amazing! Mine came with ESP pickups that look like the EMGs on the 607/608B model. The bridge pickup is quite thin with a large difference between the neck and bridge, but nothing that can't be fixed through a few bucks on a setup job. I'll eventually put Dimarzios or Seymours in it anyway. It's unbelievable that a guitar this inexpensive came with binding on the neck and headstock. 7-strings are diminishing in popularity, so grab this one if you're looking for one! It's unbelievable!
