THIS GUITAR IS SWEEEET!

I had to wait almost a month to get this guitar because it was backordered. When it finally arived I was totally blown away by the looks of this guitar. Maybe I was just lucky but the spalting on the maple looks like a demon skull. Everyone that I show this to is amazed by it. As far as staying in tune after my band broke up this stayed in the case for almost 6 weeks, when I finally took it out it was still perfectly in tune. The pickups may not be the greatest in the world but I have never been ashamed of any of the sound that I can get from this guitar.

Spring for the fx400sm

Basically this is a well built guitar structurally but the PUPS and tuners are definetely lacking. I ended up putting grover lockers on it because it would not stay in tune for more than 5 minutes even after several pro setups and the pickups while respectable will not keep up with EMGs like some posters have suggested. I have put EMGs in this guitar now and it was a night and day difference. This is a good beginner guitar but if your expectations and taste are more refined then spring for the fx400sm and save yourself the time of replacing parts. The overall costs ends up being about the same if you did the mods that I did.

This guitar has nice responsive pickups a slick neck and its amazingly beautiful. I just wish it had the standard pointed headstock!!! ESP PUPS RULE BY THE WAY, Dont be fooled I have an Ec-1000 deluxe and these keep up with my EMGS. People have also been complaining about the strings that came with this....you do know you are supposed to change strings regularly ....Right?

Not Sure What You Guys Got....

I played this guy today in a local music store more to get the feel of the EX series in general. Right off the bat it was horribly out of tune, and the shop is usually really good about that, so when tuning is off its usually bad tuners. Nice thin neck and honestly good features for a 400 dollar axe. Looks cool. Felt cheap. Didn't even bother to plug it in, ESP-branded 'buckers always suck.

Just picked this up yesterday..

I bought one of these bad boys brand new yesterday, and it was fortunate for me because the shop that was selling it already had swapped the pups to an EMG 60 in the neck and a EMG 81 in the bridge which was EXACTLY what I was going to do to it. This thing is AWESOME. I love the finish on it, and the neck is very smooth. My only negative thing is that the frets seem to be a little too wide for the neck and im sort of scratching my fingers on it, but nothing a little careful sanding can't fix. BUY THIS!!
