The LTD EC-I000 FR guitar has a mahogany body with a select maple top and a rosewood fretboard. The extra thin U-shaped mahognay neck with 24 extra jumbo frets provides comfort and speed. EMG 81/60 active pickups provide plenty of power and note definition. Controls include 2 volumes, one tone and a 3-way selector switch. The Floyd Rose bridge is unique to this member of the EC-1000 models and is rarely found in guitars with a 24.75" scale length. Black nickel hardware and abalone inlays finish off a great look.

I've been playing seriously for a very long time and I have to say this guitar blows others out of the water.( not just in this price range) The floyd is fantastic, and stays in tune perfectly. The finish is gorgeous, and the playablity is perfect. This guitar outplays my Gibsons by a long shot. ignore the writing on the headstock and buy this. You will not regret it.

I dont own one (yet), but I have played my friends James Hetfields truckster and, man, this thing plays it's self. I have an LTD KH-602 and the speed and playability between both doesn't compare. It has a nice crisp sound on trebble and it can also have a grueling heavy tone too. It's clean tone isn't excellent, but get's the job done... I play more on distortion and effects, so I dont really use the clean anyway. This will definitely be my next guitar and I'll get it with the FR, because it's simply so fun to use!!!! A great instrument if your into metal and shreding

I'm 35 years old and have been playing Gibson Les Pauls since I was 7 years old. I started by playing my father's 1970 Standard (which I now own) and I bought a Les Paul Platinum Studio 2 years ago as a back up guitar. I thought I'd never play anything but a Gibson until I played the EC-1000FR. This thing blew my mind! It is surprisingly comfortable considering that it has a Floyd Rose instead of the usual tune-o-matic bridge that I'm so used to! Speaking of which, this is the closest anyone will ever get to dive bombing on a Les Paul! Buy one...I did!!

The fact that you can purchase this great of a guitar in today's market of way over priced brand name guitar building is astonishing. The craftsmanship and set up right out of the box are top quality. It has a thin neck with very smooth playability. EMG pickups are more versatile than they let on. If you want strat or les paul tone it's not going to come out of these pickups, they sound awesome but i would recommend trying them before you buy them. The point of all this is that for 1000 you get a guitar with features normally found on guitars twice as expensive. If you want a unique guitar with great sound check this out.

Had mine for a few months now and have nothing but praise for the ESP folks. EMGs are very clean, the 24.5 inch scale has a nice string tension, neck is thin and fast. If you are a shredder, this guitar is for you. It has more features than an Eclipse and plays better than the ones I have played. Outstanding value and a unique product...a Gibson scale guitar with the FR and EMGs. What's not to love? Looks great too.
