The ESP LTD Deluxe MH-1000 electric guitar features a set-thru 3-piece maple neck, mahogany body with gorgeous carved maple top, and a rosewood fretboard. The thin, U-shaped neck with 24 extra jumbo frets provides comfort and speed. An EMG-81 humbucker at the bridge and an 85 at the neck provide plenty of power and note definition. Grover tuners and an FR locking nut keep you tuned and intoned, so you'll sound your best. Volume, tone and a 3-way toggle give you options with simplicity. Genuine Floyd Rose bridge let you dive bomb the night away. Black hardware, offset abalone block inlays and white with abalone purfling finish off a great look.

Set-thru neck construction is an innovative technique in which the neck is glued to the body (like a set neck), however the traditional bulky heel is carved away (similar to neck-thru-body construction). This makes access to the ESP MH-1000's upper frets and the neck-to-body transition much smoother. Just as on a set neck, you will get a combination of tone from both the neck and body with the set-thru construction. The sound will depend on the types of wood used, but generally will have a fuller, warmer tone when compared to most neck-thru-body electric guitars.

This guitar is a true dream. You could not ask for more in a guitar then what you get here with the Esp MH-1000. The EMG's are perfect and crank'd through my 6505+ this is a beast of a instrument. Would recommend to anyone, especially for metal style playing. A++++

I've had my see-through-black MH-1000 for a year now. I moved up to this from an Ibanez RG, and I’ve been very impressed.

Pros: Holds a tune very well. I usually only have to unlock the nut once to retune between string changes, and I do a lot of vibrato and bends and occasional dive-bombs.

Looks really good. The pictures don't do justice. The binding is a nice accent.

The EMG's allow for a surprisingly wide variety of tones. It does metal distortion very well, and I've found a setting that does a bluesy overdrive too. You won't get crystal clear Strat-style cleans, but it does metal-style cleans very well.

It came set up well. A while later I took it in for a set-up, and after that the playability was remarkable. Riffs that had caused trouble before came out easily.

ESP's "set thru" neck allows for good access to upper frets.

Cons: After lots of playing time, the darkened metal finish on the bridge is starting to wear off, leaving a brighter shiny silver showing. This doesn't affect playing or sound.

My black one attracts lots of dust and fingerprints.

Overall I think you’re getting a lot of value in a guitar at this price with FR bridge, EMG’s, and general build quality.

One of the BEST guitars I've owned. You can't beat the EMG's on this beast. Right after i opened the box I just tuned it up , which was very easy by the way, and started playing it. The neck isn't so thin but that's fine for me since my hands are big. If you play metal and want quality for this price then BUY THIS GUITAR, you will love it.

Best guitar Ive ever played, not a super-thin neck, but very easy to control, NEVER GOES OUT OF TUNE! sounds so good, my favorite guitar to play, very clean sound, looks great, the black one is more purple than anything though, the only thing I dont like is the floyd rose, when you are shredding and you lay your hand on the bridge it gets a little funky, but other than that, my favorite guitar ever, definitely recommend it for anyone.
