This guitar will not dissapoint. It initially grabbed my attention visually (I have the black version). This is one classy looking guitar. Sustain and playability is excellent. Output from EMG pickup's work well w/ my Mesa tube amp.Finish is impeccable. Only drawback is with active pickups, you cant get that "weak, out of phase tone" but thats ok for me. I just cant decide wether to get another one in black or the other finish, for a backup.
The best guitar I have EVER owned!

Before I even begin, let me just say that this the guitar I use the most, out of all my other guitars. Whether I am playing a gig or recording, this is the one I predominately use. I have other guitars but nothing compares to this. I got the black version with custom EMG81 and EMG85 pickups. These things were created to blow people's minds. From playing rhythm to lead, there's nothing I can't do with this guitar. I find myself playing lead more often than rhythm and the pickups definitely do their job. From the Pixies to the Strokes, I can get any tone I want; provided I have the correct setup and gear.
As I have read before, the first thing I noticed when I took this out of the box was the finish. It seems to always have a shine and the abalone binding is splendid. I have never played a top-loading guitar; meaning a guitar where strings are placed on the body and not through the body. This guitar is a string-through, just the way I like it because I believe that it adds tone and quality to the sound. There is a TonePros locking bridge and this has always worked for me. I can instantly go from high action to low action without any trouble at all.One of the most important features, according to me, are the Sperzel locking tuners. These things are lifesavers. They always keep your guitar in tune, no matter how hard you play or how far you bend your strings! I don’t have exceptionally large fingers but the extra-jumbo frets are excellent for soloing and playing complicated riffs.
It’s simple yet still intricate. Instead of having random knobs all over the place, there are just two: a volume and tone knob. The toggle can switch three ways: the bridge, middle, or neck. I personally find it more feasible when there are only three switches as opposed to five or even, seven! For the sound of a Les Paul with the body of a Strat, this guitar is perfect and the extra dough you spend on it is worth it, trust me.
Great for any style.

Iv'e only been playing for five years. But a very continual five years. And with that I had 12 years of piano and 10 years of violin under my belt. So I caught on quick to guitar and a style close to that of buckethead. This is a great guitar whether playing live or recording. Clean, or max distortion this thing will rock. I play through the VOX Tonelab SE. And though the recorder I use is far from professional level the sound quality is awesome. I recomend this to any musician of any style. Smooth action, excellent sustain, and great overal playability.

The H-1000 and it's brother the MH-1000 with Duncans are just what they say. The perfect LP sound with Strat comfort, only lighter. That is amazing coming from a guitar maker of mostly metal guitars. Great for ANY style. If you need more versatality, get an H-400 with a 5-way switch. It costs less, and you sacrifice some quality, but I think a strat should sound like a strat and humbuckers sound like humbuckers. This guitar sounds great through any amp. This is my #1 and I own lots of Strats and Gibsons. Must Buy.

I just recieved this guitar after deciding not to wait for the ESP LTD MH-400. The first thing you notice when taking it out of the box is the finish. It is absolutly beautiful to look at. I was wondering before the purchase if this guitar had a set neck like they said it did. Some people said that it did not and I even saw a picture of this guitar without one. But when I fliped it it was set and very smooth right into the body. This guitar is very accesible to the upper frets and the sound is awesome. I play metal and shred (like Steve Vai). I found the perfect crunch and the best setting for Vai's song Building The Church (need wah as well). This is a great guitar the main difference between this and the h-400 is the abalone outline and the set neck. I put in the extra cash to get exactly what I wanted and I love the choice. Go for it!
