Exact Replica

The George Lynch M1 Tiger is a an exact replica of the one used by George except for few minor details.

I had the privilege of working/recording with George and actually played the real Tiger many times as we did our sessions. The Real Tiger is a Charvel with an ESP logo painted on the headstock (he is contractually bound to play ESP's hence the logo alteration) and it does at least these day's have a Floyd Rose installed. Another mod that the replica does not have is the "sustainer" bolted to the back of the headstock. It has a cord that can plug into it and a metal box that is about the size of a talk box that sits on the floor. I have only seen George use it in the studio, he has a Fernandes sustainer installed in one of his many ESP's hde owns for live. He claimes the one on the Tiger creates a different tone since it does not vibrate at the pickup but at the neck...

As far as the wood, I never asked George what it was made from so I cannot comment on that. I have played both the original and the replica. The play and sound almost Identical...

plays and sounds great for a one p/up guitar. Love it, just wanted to correct mr. scary from ca, in that the paint work is identical to the one he played on breaking the chains but that guitar he used back then was a CHARVEL, made of basswood with a non locking trem.

First off I will admit for what you pay the features on this guitar are lacking. It's a totally straight forward rock guitar. However, what you do pay for is pure quality and looks. When I first pulled this guitar out of the case I was blown away, beautiful! Then I plugged it in an was further impressed. I threw every trick and lick that I knew at it and I could play everything. You are definitely not limited by this guitar as far as playability is concerned. Value...well, the big thing you pay for is looks and the fact that it's George Lynch's guitar. But it plays so killer that I feel it's worth it!

Great all around guitar

The MI tiger, as with all japanese-made ESPs, is of the finest quality. Some may find it limited because of the single pickup configuration, but face it, if you know what you are doing as a guitarist, this is the lead guitar for you (it is also good for rythm). It has a suprisingly good clean tone. Mine was set up A-1 from the factory and has given me months of enjoyment. I have been playing for over 25 years and have a very wide variety of guitars (15 electrics). This guitar does what it is supposed to do (shreds) and does it well. Perfect neck width and radius for speed, nice bright sound thanks to the maple body/neck configuration. Sounds great on a track. I've read a few complaints about the price and limits. Grow up and play folks. This is a great quality guitar.

esp is a great guitar brand but whats the point on spending so much for a strat with one humbucker buy a gorge ltd more for the mony but it sounds good for one humbucker and the floyd is great a lot better then the fake ones.
