The Dunlop Jimi Hendrix Wah-Wah Effects Pedal follows the original '60s design. But it uses modified circuitry to provide a more open (fatter) sound by lowering the frequency of the operating range. The Dunlop Jimi Hendrix Wah-Wah Effects Pedal uses the Dunlop ECB-003 power supply.

Not Hendrix but....

This pedal does not sound like Hendrix. I'm sorry if you disagree, but it doesn't. It doesn't sound bad by any means but it does not acurately reproduce Jimi's dynamic Wah-Wah tone. I bought this to replace my Morley Volume/Wah which broke (finally) and I took it back after a week and a half of use. Like I said, it sounds ok; just not like Hendrix. On top of that, it cuts your signal, not alot but enough to notice. Honestly, I think putting down a couple more bucks for the Q35 Multi-Wah (also Dunlop) is the way to go. I've had it for a week now and it smokes like you wouldn't believe!

It's Different...

I have used wahs for almost 40 years, mostly Vox and Crybabies. You get used to the midrange feel and the space to play around in there, and the really bright high end. This pedal is very different. It reminds me more of a Mutron sound, and if I mess around with it long enough to get that down, that's probably what I'll use it for. I'm going to keep using my Crybaby for that R&B wah sound. When the pedal is all the way back, your sound is gone, when it's all the way down, it's almost like a normal tone without wah - strange. I won't be using it as my main stage wah, and personally its sound doesn't remind me of Jimi Hendrix's sound. But it is a good pedal, and it doesn't cost much.

Good for bass, but bad for guitar

I believe guitar should have a lot of high, piercing bite. This pedal does not deliver that, nor does it have the tone of Hendrix. If you are looking for the hendrix sound, get a Vox Clyde McCoy. That is what he used. This pedal has poor upper range, and the lows just drag along on guitar. And if you want to add distortion, forget about it, is sounds absolutelt terrible. On bass however, it sounds heavenly. I gave it to a friend who plays bass, and he raves about the tone, and he heard what it sounds like on my guitar. He agrees the tone is terrible. If you play bass or know someone who does, I reccomend this wah, but if you play guitar, get the regular crybaby, or get the Vox.

not versatile at all really...

OK, I got this pedal over a dime from hell and a original crybaby, because this one was on sale at that time. I thought it sounded alright, and it does, but not like Hendrix's. Not only does it not sound like Hendrix's, but its not at all versatile, and you cant change its sound at all. When its all the way back, or not even that far, you cant hear anything. Thats why the features got a low rating, the quality is nice though, this will never break, from what I've seen out of it. I gave the value a ten.

This is a cool pedal for the price. It doesnt work well with heavy distortion, But I use a boss ds-1 pedal on crunch and it does fine. It is good for an Alice In Chains sound. I think it could have a little more features on it. The biggest problem is anything past the 12th fret oa any string is un-noticable. If you are low on cash I recomend it, But if you have money to spend, get a dimebag one.
