I got this pedal years ago for christmas. Mine stopped working after so long, but I'm getting it sent in for repairs hopefully soon. When it was working, it was pretty good. Obviously, you're not gonna get a whole lot of distorion, which is the point of overdrive. The morph capability is awesome, but there is really only three settings. EQ-wise, you only have a "tone" knob, which i don't particularly like, but it didn't matter much since the setting on it was a good sound anyway. For the price it's an excellent and i would reccommend it for anyone looking to save money.

I got the Tone Driver about a year ago. At first I wasn't really used to hearing overdrive, so I thought that the cruch was gain (DUMB I KNOW!). But after a while as I got more advanced in my playing and knowledge, I realized that the name says it all. At first I was running it into a clean amp, with no overdrive whatsoever, then I ran it through a Vox VT30 with a dirty overdriven tone and it sounded completely different. So therefore, I recommend this pedal to boost your signal to get a higher gain sound, but the pedal sounds great without a dirty amp for some classic rock or blues.

You can literally get 5 different overdrives from the morph knob. 9 oclock gives you grunge. From 7 to 3 gives you multiple Rock or metal (dirty) tones. From 3 to 5 gives you transparent OD. The great part is you only get the natural overdriven tone of the amp. 4 seems to be the amps tone and 5 adds some sizzling treble. It will literally sound like a different pedal with a turn of the morph knob. I gave it a the only 5 I've ever given because of the value. Has headroom as well. It can get too hot.

Glenn Tipton of The Metal GODS Judas Priest has this exact pedal on his board for boosting an already overdriven amp sound for solos, etc. - that's the key, you use it to give your already hard-driving amp a nice KICK. If it's good enough for him, it's good enough for you!

I've owned the DigiTech XTD Tone Driver Overdrive Pedal since early 2006, and it rocks! This little stompbox provides some sweet overdrive tones! Use this with the DigiTech MultiChorus for a bit of dirty distortion, or combine with the MXR Blue Box for some hard-core rock sounds! These pedals are built like tanks, using metal construction; and produce high-quality, digital sound. Their metallic paint makes them look really cool, too! DigiTech X-Series pedals provide you with the most bang for your buck, and I highly recommend them! Make sure to grab a DigiTech AC power supply so you can save money on batteries!
