The DigiTech RP90 is a guitar multi effects pedal powered by DigiTech's AudioDNA2 DSP processor. The RP90 includes detailed models of boutique stompboxes, amps, cabinets and effects. The RP90 pedal's tone and effect libraries allow quickly and easily give you any sound you want. The RP90 is like having a music store at your disposal. From hot-rodded rock and roll to metal, the DigiTech RP90 has everything you need to get the tones you want or need. To top it all off, the chorus and DigiTech Whammy effects can be re-arranged to go before the amp model or after—whichever you desire. The DigiTech RP90 modeling pedal features a 1/4" guitar input along with separate left and right 1/4" output jacks. Connect to either an amplifier or mixer for direct recording with a press of the Amp/Mixer switch that engages the internal speaker cabinets. Rounding off the outputs is a separate, stereo 1/8" headphone jack for practice. To control the Wah and Whammy, use the Digitech RP90's built in pedal.

Because music isn't just about getting tones but writing songs, the DigiTech RP90 multi effects pedal also features 40, high-quality drum patterns to aid music creation and practice. Feeling sterile and need inspiration? Just turn on one of the RP90 pedal's drum patterns and see where it takes you.

I have had one for a little better than a year now. Its lots of fun. I only play for fun, I'm not talented enough for anyhting else. One problem I have encountered is sometimes the up and down buttons don't work. It would cost too much to send it back for repair so I am left to tinker with it on my own.

Well, I'm finally writing a review after owning one now for a couple of years. I play it through the Return FX Loop of my 20 watt Hughes & Kettner Anniversary Tube amp. I've had a ton of gear through the years and while it may not be the BEST sound I can get, for the simplicity of only having one pedal, it'll always have its place!! I bought it without ever using it first and it took a while to master the various options, but after figuring it out I'll always own one.

I had a POD 2.0, but after it died I just wasn't impressed enough to buy another one of those (sorry Line 6). It wasn't bad, but it definitely wasn't what I wanted either. I bought this and began to experiment with how to use it. I tried it every possible way (before and after the preamp) and in every amp I owned from the solid states to the tubes and even straight into a PC (with an adapter). After enough playing around I found it sounded the best through the return loop of my 20 watter. I used it at practice one day and the fellas were VERY impressed with 'the toy'. My favorites were the JCM800 (crunch/rhythm settings), and the Grunge (for leads). The Hiwatt and the plexi sounds were great too!! The effects I never really used that much of, but the ones I used ... I liked (wah was OK, reverbs and delays were great!).

However, this thing IS plastic. I went to use it one day and the UP button quit working (sigh) ... time for a new one!! I'm going to upgrade to a metal chassis one (hopefully the RP500 or 1000 series)!!!

The guitars I use through it (in order of use-age): Fender strat with Lace sensor single coil pups (gold, blue and red), Epiphone ZW Les Paul with the Kerry King EMG setup (after-burner installed), Jackson Dinky and a EMG 81/85 loaded Dean EVO (Les Paul-style). These all sounded great through it!!

This pedal is amazing. I bought it about 3 months ago and I sometimes don't even use my more expensive pedals. This thing has it all. Distortion, noise reduction, reverb, delay, wah, whammy...everything. This pedal is a steal for the price, and you won't regret buying this pedal.

i bought this pedal almost a year ago and after i got it i regret buying it it just sucks the tone out of my guitar.this pedal is ok if you are beginer or somebody who just comes home of an evening plays gutar a little bit and doesnt play loud.first of all when i play loud it just sounds like static that is all you here .when you play on acoustic symulator when you pick some strings it makes your amp make a realy anoying buzzing sound that embarressed me badly in my school talent show.the only good thing on this pedal is the wah and the tubesreamer.that is all i use becouse the rest just drains the sound out of my strat and my marshall.if you play alot of talent shows and recitals this isnt for you. but if you just play alittle every once in a while its ok just to learn on.take my advice buy a single non digital effects pedals.if you are wanting a realy clean sound but if you are a biginer wanting to laern how to use effects i highly recomend it.

Best unit for practise and home recording!

I don’t like the cheap plastic when they could have used metal but I have to say when it comes to SOUND QUALITY Digitech just wipes the floor with comparable multi-fx units from Line6, Zoom and even Boss. For 100,- bucks this thing gives you quite a load of USEFUL sounds and effects…acoustic, country, rock, metal, reggae, surf, punk – it’s all there and it sounds a lot more organic and authentic than the competition. You can tweak the sounds and store 50 custom settings EASILY - NO SOFTWARE OR INTERNET CONNECTION NEEDED. The sounds of the RP90 are decent and professional enough to develop an ear for what an effect does and even produce a decent demo with it. I recommend this to anyone who wants to record music at home or just wants to explore different sounds, getting into the world of sund effects without spending a furtune on stompboxes and amps. For the price and the porpose, it’s the best unit on the market. If you want something for live concerts and taking on take on the road go for something else. But if you want to practise and record yourself in decent quality buy this.
