The simplicity of a stompbox. The control of an effects switching system. |
Get the best of both worlds with the DigiTech RP500 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal. The RP500 features a Pedalboard mode that allows you to turn on and off individual stompboxes and effects by pushing buttons 1-5. You get the expressiveness of stompboxes and you can change them from preset to preset. Next take the Amp/Cabinet Bypass button that defeats the internal amplifiers and cabinets leaving you with only stompboxes and effects and you have a switching machine. Save each combo in a preset for a uniquely switchable pedal setup found only in pro switching systems.
The RP500 Multi Effects Pedal is built like a tank, from a cast metal chassis to the 9 vacuum-style switches. A large 10 character LED display makes for easy stage use topped by an built-in expression pedal to control wahs, volume, Whammy™ and other parameters.
Your sound is king so having control of your sound is imperative. The DigiTech RP500 pedal gives you the control to express yourself the way you want—no longer will the lack of control stand in the way of your expression.

I have been able to get great sounds out of this unit. I'm never satisfied with even the best presets, so I've been extremely pleased with the ease of use. I can tweak anything and everything I want without any headaches (pay attention Line 6!). Great engineering and design here with solid build quality. Once again, creating, tweaking and saving patches is a BREEZE. I only regret not haveing the money for the extra features in the RP1000 because I'd like to be able to integrate my other stompboxes better (not just running them pre or post in the chain. If you have an IQ over 50, you'll be able to get some fantastic sounds with this unit.

The Digitech rp500 is pretty boss when it comes to multi-effects pedals. I dont think it is THE BEST, but it is very good for the price. Some of the harder distortion sounds are kinda digital. When i bought it, the guy told me there was no whammy pedal, but after playing around with it for a while, I found out that there was one. There are alot of factory presets. Some of them i dont know who would have a use for, but alot of them are pretty good. There is a built in tuner, but it's not very accurate. But overall, i think it is a very good pedal for the price.

I own both a Pod X3 and an RP500. Some things to know. There is a USB post and software to dial in your sound. Most presets are usable. My acoustic guitars don't feed back even with considerable distortion. Slide guitar and dobro is absolutely heavenly in most settings. Really brings out the character of a guitar, a Strat sounds like a Strat and a Les Paul sounds like a Les Paul.

This pedal is a formidable sight taking it out of the box, a big step from the RP350 and down. And the sound is just just what it looks like. Serious sounds comin out of this baby, the quality is fantastic, even though I can't say I've ever heard the original of any of the modeled stompboxes. The one and only complaint I have is it needs a mode to scroll through presets one at a time (owners of older RP's know what I'm talking about) instead of going through banks 5 at a time. Also, it's extremely easy to tweak your own presets from the originals. Takes forever to find the preset your looking for. Good luck finding a bag to put this in, though, it's wide. Bottom line, it's amazing, everything you could want in one extremely easy to use pedal.

This thing puts out. I love it and what a deal. This is a great price and is worth it. The sound quality is phenominal with an amazing noise gate (absolutely silent when not playing). The tech support was GREAT, i was having trouble running the software so i asked them and their answer was perfect, solved the problem immediately. If you have any brain at all and need some great sound, buy this.
