Dont be fooled by the all the good ratings,The Effects on this unit are really nice. The distortion tones are not so good. I bought it just for my practice amp and for using the u.s.b to track ideas i had. As far as live goes, i was only using it for the chorus effect and that was it. Its built real well, and for the price you can not argue with it as long as its for practicing in an apartment or on a small amp that does not have a foot switch for going from clean to dirty. But if you are looking for something serious, save your money and look at the higher dollar processors.

Review Update!

I did the review below 5 days ago, and I still rate this "DigiTech RP155 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal" 5 out of 5 stars.
The only thing it lacks compared to more expensive models is more ins/outs (like aux in, xlr outs) and a control pedal, and a few more presets/drum beats the upgraded models offer.
If you aren't going to be using a wah/whammy/volume pedal get this now!
I am keeping it for backup for live gigs, and buying the next upgrade up as well (The Digitech RP255, which includes a control pedal), I like it so much.
You can get a control pedal for this for about the same price, btw, from Behringer, and I will probably do so, but you are probably better off getting the RP255 if that's all you need - research the product line, they are all an incredible value for the price.
I just completed the return process on a "Line 6 Studio GX Pod Farm USB audio interface" with Musician's Friend because the RP155 absolutely blew it out of the water as an audio interface.
With the RP155 unit there was no lag recording via USB, and the hardware and software are very easy to use, and everything included with it actually WORKS. Not so with the Line 6 product.
I also have to compliment Musician's Friend for their fabulous customer service. I have been ordering from them for years and will continue to do so. Best company there is in my opinion.

The pedal has 100 different preset effects as well as 50 programmable effects that you can edit yourself. Not only can you choose what effects you want you can choose the volume of it, style, and more! The drum thing had me confused at first but here is what it does for those of you who haven't figured it out: When you turn on the drums function it starts playing a drum beat. You can choose from multiple styles and beats. You can change the tempo and volume of the beat as well. Great for jamming out to some drums.
Overall a great product!

I am nothing but pleased with this multi-effect set. The tones that are produced are awesome, and i can move from heavy metal to a clean sound with the tap of a switch. The only thing i dont like is the time it takes to set up an effect, but, i'm not downgrading on that. Overall i like the quality(even with the plastic footswitches)and i love the sound. It's a GREAT price too!!!

I've had this thing for a week or two now and absolutely love it. I got it mainly for recording. It gets the job done. I use Audacity and I just connect to the pc with using the usb port and it comes right up on the screen. The FX are quite good also. But it's also great for playing live! It has a stereo out so I run it to two separate tube amps set on clean channels and it sounds fantastic. Surprisingly, the drum machine is also pretty cool too. I really can't think of anything negative to say about this thing except that it doesn't have an on/off switch, but it's not that big of a deal. You need to buy this!!!!!
