Rear Left-facing Right-facing Stage, Style Shot Powersupply PS913B

The DigiTech RP1000 guitar pedal is loaded with over 160 effects and 200 presets giving you a splendid range of tones. With an integrated effects switching system, no longer will you have to do the pedal tap dance—just select your preset and your tone is engaged, just the way you like it. This DigiTech pedal comes with a built-in phrase looper with 20 seconds of record time. You can also route external effects pedals through it using the stompbox loop.

Your Amp
The Digitech RP1000 comes with an Amp/Cabinet bypass switch that allows you to turn off the RP1000's internal amplifiers and cabinets so your amp's tone stands alone.

Simplicity of a Guitar Pedal
Popular on the Digitech RP500, the RP1000 multi-effects pedal also features the Pedalboard Mode that turns footswitches 6 through 10 into stompbox-style effect on/off controls.

100 different Pedalboards
When the Amp/Cabinet Bypass is used in conjunction with the Pedalboard mode, the RP1000 turns into 100 different pedalboards. You get instant access to both preset changes and stompbox on/off control—truly the best of both worlds.

The DigiTech RP1000 pedal is built like a tank from a cast-metal chassis to the 14 vacuum-style switches. A large 10 character LED display makes for easy stage use topped by a built-in expression pedal to control wahs, volume, whammy, and other parameters.

Your sound is king; the control of your sound is imperative. The RP1000 pedal gives you added control to express yourself the way you want—no longer will the lack of control stand in the way of your expression.

Lots of Tones and Effects

I own a Zoom 9.2tt effects processor and always felt that it was a bit much. It has 2 expression pedals, 9 switches, 10 knobs, and like 10 buttons. So, I wanted something that would be a little quicker to set up. I've always been a fan of Digitech's stompboxes, so I thought I'd give this a try. I am happy with this purchase. The presets are great, and after some quick and painless programming, I created some sounds of my own that I am proud of. The only downsides are that you can't use more than one effect out of the fx category at a time. So I have to do without my Tremelo/Chorus/Acoustic sim sound. Also the Harmonizer doesn't sound as "organic" as the Zoom's. There's always a trade off, but I am happy with this product and value (around the same price as 4 quality stompboxes, for now).

It burned up at the first gig I brought it to

Feature-wise this is a great product. I may have just got one of the bad ones though. I bought mine and spend hours setting it up to replace my rack mounted Pod Pro. After dialing it in and being very happy with the tones I was getting I brought it to the gig. I plugged it in and got nothing. Then I started smelling something burning. This is the first time this has happened to me. I had to play the show completely dry and plugged direct into a Crate power block to get through. Anyways, what I liked about it was that there are so many chanels available for one. After taking it back I went with a Pod X3 live. One thing the rp1000 cannot do is 2 tones at once. That is why I didn't buy it again after the burn up. I still have a rp500 to use if I ever miss it though!

Best in its class

It does modify you tone! But the subtle difference can be corrected with the Eq to get your amps tone back where you like it...or better. I run my amp through the pedal board's effects loop. It gave me the "truest" non modified tone from my guitar head, then ran guitar into pedal board and used the effect loop of the head for the processor patches. My set up uses 5 instrument cords but allows for no loss of the head distortion, and the most authentic effects tone and a superior noise gating. I dont play..there is no noise, hum or hiss.

The unit itself is real simple to program. It is the easiest plug and play processor I could find with the features I want. The expression pedal is always defaulted to volume control or a quick toe tap all the way down puts it in wah mode. No forceful stomping like the crybaby's.

I cant say its an upgrade from my ART SGX rack mount in features or durability...Its about an even wash for what i use it for, but it is easier to transport and gig around with.

IT IS RECOMMENDED!

Best Multi Effects, but Pedals are Better

I’m embarrassed to admit how many hours I spent evaluating this thing. I did the same with the Boss GT-10. I could write a short book about my thoughts about this, but here is the summary: (1) This is the best multi effects floor unit made; (2) It is very simple to use (I wanted to throw the GT-10 out the window because it was so complex and inconsistent); (3) It sounds as good or better than the GT-10; (4) It does not sound as good as high quality individual pedals in many cases (with exceptions); and (5) The sound quality varies from effect to effect. Regarding (4) and (5) – I compared the RP1000 to several individual stomp boxes. The digital delay sounds better than my Boss DD-7. The “screamer” distortion setting initially sounds indistinguishable from my Maxon OD9 tube screamer, but a closer listen reveals a slightly digital sound (you probably could not tell a difference through a solid state amp). The MXR Phaser model on the RP1000 does not come close to my real MXR Phaser. The flanger sounds very digital. On balance, I thought the RP1000 was incredible, particularly for the price. However, I want the best sound, so I returned it and am sticking with my individual pedals. (I agonized over the decision). If you have a need for many different sounds, the RP1000 may be the way to go. If you’re looking for just a few great sounds, individual stomp boxes are better. Separately, if you want to be able to place some of the unit's effects before your amp's preamp and others after your preamp in the effects loop (using your amp's pre-amp), you need the RP1000 not the RP500. That is really the main difference between the two.

Amazing

I just upgraded from the RP500 and it's definitely worth it, if only for the looper. It's nice to have 10 presets available at a time instead of 5, but as for number of effects, not that different. As far as I can tell, Amp Loop and Stomp Loop are just the same as bypass. I can't get enough tweaking presets and being able to control every single parameter to the smallest degree. If you don't own a different model of RP, you absolutley must get this. It has every single effect under the sun in 5 different models with every single aspect of each effect is changeable to your liking. If you do own an RP 350 or lower and are looking to upgrade, go for it, it's a huge step up in number of effects and presets. However if you have an RP500, it doesn't really seem to have a bunch of upgrades except for the looper pedal, which it's cheaper to get this with a looper and about a dozen more effects than to get a more complicated standalone looper. The looper is great for learning how to solo or find harmonies and can make the songwriting process much faster. Bottom line, this pedal is absolutley amazing, and is definitely a step up no matter what you already own.
