Take your playing to another dimension

I bought my Digitech JamMan a couple weeks ago. Im not one to write a review on the first day. Sometimes you are so overwhelmed by a new gadget that you tend to not see the downsides of it. But in this case, there are no downsides. This is one great box. High quality and very easy to operate. Doesnt take you more than a couple minutes to get started. I didnt really had a looper in mind, when I bought the JamMan. More something like an easy recording device for practice. But this little thing does it all. Just tape some nice strumming and solo over it in an instant. Like what you created? No problem, store it with just two simple clicks. Overdubbing is a piece of cake. The JamMan really has taken my playing to another dimension. One minor regret: the adjustability of the replay speed of your recording is very coarse. It is determined by taps on the footswitch rather than specific inputs. Since I use the JamMan as a practice tool this affects me somewhat. But still I would buy the JamMan again anytime.

Brought my playing up to the next level

The JamMan is like always having a buddy over to play with you. I've found it to be a must have for practice. I honestly had been working on lead for 10 years and just never got into it until I had the "JamMan" to play rhythm behind me. Some of the great features are the overdubbing, MP3 input, mic input, and level adjustment for mic, instrument, and loop. I haven't yet figured out to use the rhythm setting to set a beat behind what I play (it basically like a metronome), but it works great for recording solos that get stuck in your head or for building on rhythms. I tend to put in the rhythm for various songs before I play a gig so that I can come up with not so repetetive and no so improvised solos.

Another thing I hadn't mentioned about this effect box is that you can record percussion tracks with a mic whether it is drums or "more cowbell".

I would recommend this for anybody who likes to play.

Couldn't Live Without It!

I must've read about 50 reviews between this and other looper pedals (specifically the Boss Loopstation), but I must say that if you're in it to win it, this should be your pedal. It's very rugged in design, better so than even my Digitech RP250 effects pedal that I've had for years. I play an acoustic electric Seagul S6 through a Lexicon MX200 Reverb unit and it osunds awesome, especially when you add a bass track to your aocustic performance. I can use this pedal on the fly, but it especially useful in recalling loops you've previous built (the on board memory is what really sold me versus other pedals) and using them in live performances while you continue to add a live performance at the same time. It has made me a better soloist with the ability to work on scales while the rhythm track is looping in the background. It has an XLR input for mic and 1/4" for instruments which make it versitile. I use the mic input to pick up a djembe, tamberine, cabasa, shaker and a backing harmony track. If I thought I was good before, this pedal just made me 100% better. It is a bit pricey, but save your money until you can get it! The add-on purchase of the FS3X foot pedal is helpful if you are wanting to switch between loops without bending down to change them manually.

I have had this for about a year or so. And I love it as most digitech products it is very suer friendly. I use it mainly for playing back some of the stuff I'm learning to see if I'm getting any better. I have been working on sweep picking/tapping got the picking part down pretty good the tapping is a bit more difficult. And as most people out there they are never sadisfied with the out come so I am constantly repeating the same thing over and over and annoying my roomate witch is quiet fun. Its great for Ideas and screwing around. So if you have a roomate or just like to annoy people buy it. You won't regret it.

works for me

I've used the the Jamman about four years as a backup band for live performance, a general recorder, a mixer, a headphone amp, a DI box, etc, etc. In spite of almost continous use, sometimes left on for weeks, it's solid and has worked flawlessly. The Jamman is very simple to use - the tea pot has a thicker instruction book.

For those with complaints I say it's the CF card. The Jamman claims it can use up to 2g, but I rec no more than 1g. The 2g cards eventually corrupt - different problems with different cards. But 1g cards are rock solid - hold several hours.
