Cleans up the mess!

I bought this to remove the 90' of cable between me and the amps power amp section (pedals before amp and in the effects loop) and to get a device that will control my amp (Carvin V3 is midi controllable).

Well, this did the trick. I use it in setup mode #7 and use three 6' monster cables to hook up the unit to my amp, and a midi cable between the two, and I also have the Control 2 foot controller.

I can finally hear the tone of my guitar, now there is a noticeable difference between my guitars as well (finally!!), plus I only have to press on button to change my sound.

Oh yeah, and how does it sound? It's good, not great, but it does the trick. Some of the amp modes are good, but as much as I messed with it to get the sound I was looking for, I ended up just sticking with the preamp sounds from my amp, seemed like I search for that perfect sound, and I had it all along.

And I the noise gate DOES work with the external preamp.

more than i expected ! went from korg a3 to this. this has what i have been looking for . no more need for 5 different amps.I use mine through a marshall jvm410h and I can get any tone I want period!

I have been looking for a replacement for my Line 6 Pod Pro, which now is a little outdated. I tried the GT-10, a Line6 xt pro, and several others. I decided to try the GSP. I wanted a heavy Nickelback sound but also some clean tones. I first I tried the GDP and couldn't get the sound. After reading the manual and setting up the speaker emulator....wow!! Absolutely the best, strongest distortions and effects ever. Very happy with this unit. I always DI right into the board for live sound, and this unit has all the punch I need.

I have owned and used this unit for about 11 months. I play a variety of music, so I have always used a similar product for cover material. As I like many different amp tones, I love the modeling functions. I spent several hours programming the unit (very simple with a computer) and my only complaint is the software. While it does have a cool layout, I don't like the fact that you have to use the virtual knobs to "tune" your tone. It would be better if you had value boxes where you could enter the amounts. I run this unit through an inexpensive Kustom 2x10 amplifier (30 watts) and it sounds great. Until they change the software, make sure you have time to program your unit.

This unit delivers an array of choices for all types of music. From extreme Metal to crips clean tones. I own a few Carvin amps (e.i.,V3, Legacy and the amp tones of the GSP are very good. The presents are not bad but with some minor edits you can get about every desirable sound.

Having the Control 2 is a must. It makes things very easy to control with immediate preset changes.

I have put away all of my amps, pedals and such as I will not be needing them anymore.

I have owned Boss products inlcuding the latest GT-8, Vox Valvetronix and Line 6 and this unit completely blows them away in versatility and the smooth present change.

The technical support from Digitech is outstanding!
