Smokin Sounds

Really like this Mult pedal. I took some time get used to it. Read the guide and played around. I like the footprint, styling and I really like the sound. USB computer with Vista and it fired right up. I added prog editor and it's great. Had a slight problem with older Cubase so I used the Pro Tracks package from Cakewalk that was bundled. No lags, no problems. Lovin this thing through my Macki 824's and Yam sub. This one isn't as digital as my GT Boss unit. Something about it's sound was better than its new RP500. Plus that one don't have the drums machine built in that I wanted. TETO! Since the add on model pack's I added I can have more sounds altho this one has quite a lot to play with.

My live rig is a VHT 2-50 stereo and cab with V30 and Tonkers in Xpattern. Sounds are incredible with LP EPI Silverburst! No noise. No loss. Sound cuts well with the other guys rigs. Great pedal, great new price! Purchased another for a spare.

I use the item with the band that I play with. I like the sound of the unit--once you tweak it to your liking.

I use no amp, I plug directly into the PA head. Currently, I'm using a Yamaha EMX 66m.

While the unit is easy to work with, once you tweak it, you need to write down exactly what those settings are. Minimum once a month--I have to reset the unit back to factory reset because something keeps going wrong.

Today for example, I turned it on, and it went off, even with the switch on. Had to turn it on and off 6 times before it stayed on. (This has happened before, and I had to set it to "reset" to get it to come on the first time.) Of course, when you reset it, you lose all your tweaking, and you have to start all over!

Perfect... if you take the time to learn

This is one amazing unit, but to get the best of it, you really need to take the time to understand what it is and how its working. First and foremost, this is a digital modeler. The cool thing about this one, is that its models don't just sound like the real amps, they BEHAVE like them.

What does this mean? 1. Take a vintage (somewhat clean) amp model and crank the drive to the max. 2. Add a clean stompbox model and turn its volume all the way up with its drive really low. What happens? The same thing that would in real life: it creates the natural overdrive of the amp being pushed harder than it can do itself. REALLY cool! Now inch the stompbox drive up until you have the perfect combination of the amp's natural overdrive with that little extra grit of the stompbox model, the same way done in real life by SRV, Randy Rhoads, Hendrix, and many others.

Treating the models like the real thing is the key to this unit. If you do that and take the time to understand this unit, you will be able to make any sound you are looking for in 5 minutes... vintage or modern. This unit even lets you blend the attributes of different amps into custom models.

Aside from the modeling, this box has all the effects you would expect, a tuner, drum loops, foot controlled recording and much more that most people will never even scrape the surface of.

If you really just want the sound of one amp, I would say go get that amp. But, if you are developing your own sound, like to experiment, or play many different styles, this might be perfect for you.

Remember: 1. Put it in stomp box mode so you can change amps, effects with no delay time. 2. Plug this directly into the effects return jack of your amp and use the volume on the back of the pedal. This unit is your preamp. Every amp will make this sound a little different, so you might have to tweak it. 3. Play with it, read the manual, and don't give up. It might be tricky at first, but once you learn how to make those sweet tones, you will love it.

Tons of sounds

This things has so many amps that all sound pretty accurate to the amps they model. There not 100% accurate but why would expect a solid state pedal sound exactly like a tube amp. The effects on this are amazing its probably the best thing on it. It has almost every imaginable effect and all top notch. One of tho coolest features on this is the ability to blend more then one amp witch allows for so many unique sounds. My big complaints about this pedal are the huge lag there is when you change channels and when you set the expression pedal to anything besides volume its impossible to match the volumes of the other channels with out having to go back and adjusting almost every signal setting on that channel, and theres a lot. over all though this is a really good pedal one of the best modeling pedals out there and cheaper then a lot that aren't even as good as this pedal is.

Pros and Cons

Great overall unit, but having used it for about a year in a variety of situations, here are a few points I think are important.

Pro's -- Great sound, even directly into a PA -- Pedals nicely spaced unless you've got really big feet -- Very flexible and works well with electric and acoustic guitars

Con's -- Display REALLY hard to see in sunlight/ shaded sunlight. It's even tough to see even with a custom made (out of VHS box) sunshade. Makes it hard to tune and know where you if you change effects a lot. Note to manufacturer: try one of the new LCD displays. -- Delay switching (when in Bank mode) is annoying and takes a lot of getting used to. Better blending would be ideal.
