People don't understand...

I don't know if it is that people don't read the directions or understand how amp modeling works but no-one runs these things how they are supposed to run them. Putting a amp modeling unit such as this through the front of an amp is going to destroy the sound that the pedal can give. I have the Hendrix pedal, Brian May pedal, this pedal, and the Scott Ian pedal, and the GNX 3000 and I never have problems with their tone because I run them through a mixer out to a PA system, or into the effects loop of an amp. If your amp doesn't have an effects loop, or if you don't have a mixer with clean speakers, or just plain computer speakers can work...If you don't have any of these things then it is just a waste of you time to buy modeling pedals because the tone from the front end of an amp colors the tones of modeling pedals...analog pedals or non-modeling pedals are a different story.

Now a review. This pedal is a great thing to have around. Great sound from it, I especially like the Unplugged, and Layla modes...I think they could have done better on the Sunshine model. I think you can get a better tone then that out of a Fender Champ turned up to 12 with a Les Paul on the neck pickup with the tone control turned to 0...or at least thats how I get the tone. All in all it is a good pedal to have around the studio, and can be used on stage (It's built like a rock) if you take the time to set it up right and can make quick adjustments. For studio work it is brilliant for rhythm guitar work. If I need a good tone fast I just plug this into the board and lay down the track...But then again I believe that every studio needs all the Digitech pedals because they are so easy to plug in and find a good tone your looking for... Even if they are digital...I still use tube amps and analog for all the lead stuff...8/10 stars for me...

Little tweaking

Okay, a lot of you guys are expecting to get the wickedly awesome guitar tones of Clapton through a crappy solid state and pawn guitar. And even more of you, who have fenders and marshalls and gibsons, are expecting to get the tones right out of the box. I've got a Hamer and a Peavey Valveking and have very little to complain about. Little noise here and there, which I can handle. If you feel like taking ten minutes to tweak and get bluesy, jazzy, phsycadelic tones, this is your pedal.

Fun but not worth the bread...

This pedal is fun to play around with but it sounds like it is using a reel to reel. I get it on the Sunshine setting but some of them are even louder with the hissing. If you don't have cash to throw around on a toy that has not business on stage stay away from this. It is fun but if you turn your amp up it hurts!!

I agree with another reviewer who points out the volume setting between the various styles are so great that you need to adjust it everytime you change style. Also I find the pedal very noisy/hissy even more so with the power adapter which is odd. Overall disappointed

Hey Guys For Christmas I got given it and I love it! Its pretty versatile I can make it sound rocky, bluesy, jazzy and sort of metalish it has an interesting setting that makes it sound like and organ. I would recommend this pedal for blues, rock and jazz players.
