The DigiTech Death Metal Distortion Pedal gives you the most extreme distortion you will ever hear. Simply put, the gain is turned up to eleven and then the knob is ripped off. Level, Low, Mid, and High tone controls provide flexible tone shaping so even though the distortion is over the top, your guitar is guaranteed to slice through. Low, Mid, and High tone controls give you the flexibility to boost or cut the bass, middle, and treble frequencies and the Level knob boosts the output level of your signal. An Amp output goes to your amplifier and the dedicated Mixer output has a cabinet emulation circuit that lets you run direct into a mixer or recorder when you don't want to lug your amp along.

DigiTech DDM Death Metal Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal Features:

  • High, Mid, Low, and Level controls
  • Amp and recording/mixer outputs

Way Too Much Feedback

When this Pedal first came out I heard a sound clip on the website and it sounded awesome but when I bought it I kept tweaking it over and over and the sound is way to muddy and lacks tone clarity...It Would be better if it had a sound gate on it to knock-out a "hissing" feedback. Although it has decent sound for jammin' out purposes only.

I bought this pedal about two years ago and couldn't wait to plug it in. I began playing immediately and was disgusted by the hum. I figured since this was the first pedal i had ever used it was just me that needed to adjust the knobs. After about two months of using it i figured out how to use it and i loved the sound of the distortion. However i wasnt able to use it at the same time as any chorus or flange effects without getting a violent screeching sound. However, the pedal run through a reverb or echo pedal sounds amazing and it gets great sustain. I found that overall it sounded better when plugged into an acoustic amp than in an electric one. I would recomend this for players who want to get a 90's alertnative sound, but it doesnt live up to its name as a death metal pedal

HOLY COW THIS THINGS CHUNKY

I just got this pedal today, and I can't put my guitar down. Although this is my first pedal, I absolutely love the chunk it delivers. I did try the GRUNGE pedal from Digitech - same price, same features, and it did sound great; but as you brobably guessed its just not as chunky. This thing makes my little fender 15 practice amp sound VICIOUS, and thats with the pedal set at 2 on level, 3 on low, and the mid and high channels at 0. It can can also give you a kind of grungy sound by leaving the pedal on, and all the knobs at 0 except for the level - and adjust sound with your amp, guitar, and level on the pedal. I did play with all of the settings before purchasing, and was satisfied it would deliver all the chunk I could ever want. I'm so glad I bought it - and what a great price. I played off and on for 8 hours, only taking breaks to rest my wrist and fingers. It's like getting a whole new guitar. I still can't get over what a difference this little jem makes. I can't wiat to hear it through my 85 watt Peavey 112 tomorrow. I'm gonna shake this house good. Now; if there's a down-side this is it; no power adapter. If it came with a power adapter I would have given it a 5 out of 5 for features instead of 4. I think the Death Meatal pedal is an excelent buy.I hope this review was helpful.

Unpleasant

I bought this pedal thinking I was getting a good deal on a name brand pedal. I was wrong. To those of you that like this thing... more power to you. Personally, I think the distortion is ok when I'm playing, but like others... as soon as I stop it hums and feeds back bad. It's tolerable when practicing at home, but there's no way I could use it at band practice or at a show. It's just too noisy.
