With the DigiTech DF-7 Distortion Factory Modeling Pedal you can have a satisfying smorgasbord of 7 screaming effects pedals in one stomp box. Distortion pedals are as important to the world of guitar playing as guitar playing is to modern music. So how do you get a whole spectrum of distortion tones? You can spend a fortune on individual stompboxes (and have a pedal board the size of Pennsylvania) or you can put the X-Series DF-7 Distortion Factory to work for you.

Now you can have tones from the Ibanez TS-9 Tube Screamer, EH Big Muff pi, Pro Co Rat, Metal Zone, and DOD Overdrive/Preamp 250 with a ton of EQ control to shape their sounds the way you want them. That's because the DF-7 features 3 dual concentric tone controls so you can customize each model with High, Mid Freq, Mid, and Low EQ, in addition to Gain and Level. The DF-7 sounds so good because it isn't just pedal models. The sounds modeled are the pedal interacting with the cabinet and tube characteristics of classic amps associated with each pedal. It's this combination that truly distinguishes the DigiTech DF-7 and puts its sounds leagues beyond most distortion stompbox modelers.

DigiTech DF-7 Distortion Factory Modeling Pedal Features:

  • 7 classic distortion stompbox models

I've had this pedal for a little over two years and I have never had a problem with it. This thing is great for dialing in all kinds of sounds, but since I play metal 95% of the time. I usually have it set on 5 [boss metal zone]. I go from my guitar into the df-7 then into my amp,and I play through the clean channel. This thing gives me a fat crunch thats great for playing thrash or nu-metal. I gave it a 4.5 for quality because all the distortions cant be fine tuned to please everyone. If you play in a cover band that plays a lot of rock genres or you play metal you cant go wrong with this pedal.

i bought this pedal thinking i could use it for almost anything. i've never been more wrong. i tried for hours to get a good sound out of it, but no matter what it was set to, there was absolutely no bass. this is the most hollow, digital sounding pedal i have ever used. DO NOT BUY IT

I own one for 2 years and I have had little problems with it but the sound have always been perfect. The pedal sounds awesome I have record different styles of music and this has been maybe in all of my recordings. I have had some problems with the on and off switch inside of the pedal put have fix it. For live shows I always used it you can go from blues to metal in a sec. To be honest some of the 7 models are not so good (maybe 3 of them)depends on your needs. Overall very good EQ's perfect for all music. By the way I don't used very good amps cause for the pedal there is no need for much more.

I have had this pedal for a while and I can say that when I first got this pedal it sounded pretty good, but then when I wanted to crank up the distortion it just started to sound like crap so I would recommend buying the boss metal core pedal because it is alot better then this peice of garbage.

Digitech did it again with the DF-7. I don't care what people say about them or their equipment, I use nothing but MXR, Digitech, and Line 6 equipment. I've been playing for about sixteen years, and this is one of the best (and most versatile) pedals for rock or metal that I've ever come across. I've used the Digitech Metal Master pedal for years, and this is the only one I've come across that even compares. In fact, I always had trouble nailing down the mid-range with the Metal Master (even with my MXR 10-Band EQ's), a problem I haven't had with the DF-7 As with all digital equipment, however, you've got to get to know your EQ's in order to get the most out of it and keep it from sounding "processed". Other than that, I've got no complaints.
