The DigiTech Bad Monkey Tube Overdrive Pedal gives your amp a boost right where you need it, sending your signal from clean to smooth, classic overdrive with character and dynamics. Solid Pedal-Not perfect

As the title says, this pedal is very solid and gives some great tone for the cheap price. Value gets a 5 star without a doubt. I give it a 4 stars for quality...because it's not perfect. I'm not too satisfied with the bottom or high ends. It seems to always be muddy. But often times it's exactly the tone I'm looking for, so it's not bad if that's what you need. It does cut through the mix for leads if adjusted properly too. Overall it's a great pedal, and plan on keeping it around for a while.

Nice Pedal, No Tube

Got this pedal as a gift for Christmas, and it does have a nice and gritty sound to it. It is definitely an overdrive and not "distortion"...but I like it a lot. Good groovy sound. The real key, as I'm sure is no surprise, is that there is not a tube to be found inside of it. Despite the name, don't hope you are getting a real tube pedal for this price. Good sound for the price? Yes. Good TUBE sound? No.

I've had this pedal for three years, and I still like it better than a lot of more expensive stompboxes. It's responsive, and the two tone controls are a blessing. This pedal really handles blues and classic rock well, and its raunchiness is maximized at loud volumes. It works well to boost your amp into higher gain, but I prefer to run it in front of a clean amp for some grit. Really good for its price, and has many uses.

This OD has a very annoying boost to it that will increase the volume of any reverb effect that you use. The treble control is very tinny & thin when turned up high. The bass control is not much better. It does do a nice job as far as being transparant & provides a nice OD tone on Tube & SS amps. Overall its a good pedal. I would suggest getting it modded to a badder monkey as this mod fixes the annoying problems with the pedal & makes it very musical.
