Bloody good fun!

As a fan of both Brian May and DigiTech I snagged this pedal as fast as possible. I have it in front of my RP500 and the result is fantastic!
The acoustic emulator is a dead-ringer for an Ovation. '39 never sounded better, especially considering I play it on a Strat! Also, the expression pedal has been improved. It now controls the speed of the flange as well as changing the harmonies from minor thirds to major 3rds. That said, it is not super easy to change tones on the fly live like my RP500. But still... this thing rocks!
My only real gripe is why the "Winter's Tale" tone? I would have been happier with Brian's amazingly pristine clean tone instead... or maybe a "Sleepin on the Sidewalk" tone. You do not have to be in a Queen cover band to justify purchasing this fantastic pedal. The rockin tones are enough to warrant owning one! Thanks again, DigiTech!

A Great, Tough Multi-Effects Pedal!!

I wasn't always completely sold on DigiTech's equipment or their technology until I strayed into a music store and tried out the pedal. I couldn't resist, being a HUGE fan of Brian May. The first tone I went for was the "Brighton Rock (solo)" tone, and immediately I was impressed with the authenticity of the sound it had. I next went to the "Deacy Amp" setting and subsequently went through the rest of the tones.
This pedal isn't unlimited in its versatility, but there is more than enough to work with that you can even create your own tones on it!

I got my Digitech BM red special off a trade. At first, I thought it sounded so-so when I tested it using my EMU 0404 soundcard and a cheap AKG earphone. But when I tried plugging it into the Power Amp input of my Marshall Valvestate 8040, man I was blown away! It was like playing through a different amp with the red special as the preamp. Each model gives out great tones, not just for classic rock, but also for metal! The gain knob makes this possible. I'm not even a die-hard Brian May fan and I'm too lazy to write reviews. But here I am now writing because I just spent 2 hours of pure tonal bliss with this pedal! Man, I'm still high! Buy this pedal. You won't be disappointed!

Brian May Pedal

This is a really good pedal. PERIOD. I use it mostly with my highly customized Epiphone G-400 SG and a 1979 Peavey Duece II Amp, and I can get the EXACT tone from the solo on "We will rock you", and "Bohemian Rhapsody", the only thing about it is that it's a little pricy, but that's ok since its a great pedal, the red finish looks awesome, and the delay effect sounds great too.

Ok, this thing is a toy, but is a wonderful toy. For my personal taste I refer mode number 4, which sounds just like Brian's guitar during 1977 and 1978, for my taste the most classic and recognizable tone among all the others. I use a Red Special guitar wich can provide you with more versatility with this pedal i.e. I don't need to switch from mode 4 to mode 2 to get the Bohemian Rhapsody solo sound, all I have to do is to switch my neck and middle pickups out of phase. I recommed this wonderful toy to anyone attempting to get a Brian May sound. Thumbs up for this one.
