I've plugged into a "Dean Z-X" for many years now. I've used it in the studio for plenty of years, and let me tell you this guitar can do anything.The Zebra pick-ups are made by dean and sound staggering with a sweet distortion.The grover tuners are incredible and are reliable for well over a week.Although the strap buttons tend to slip, it's nothing strap locks cant fix.The neck feels slim when it's sanded.This mighty axe can play anything from the sweet smooth funk of g.love all the way to the gut thrashing metal of slipknot. i would strongly recomend you purchase this guitar if your begining. trust me im a pro

Bought this guitar about a year ago and it was one of my rarely good decisions. Plays very well for such a cheap guitar; Definitely worth the price. I play a lot of slipknot which brings me to the negatives. Tuning on this guitar is a big annoyance to me. I constantly have to adjust it when i drop tune. Lets see, the sound is really good when in tune. Sounds awesome when i play along to As i lay Dying or Slipknot songs. It is a big, heavy guitar and ends up hitting the walls when you turn to adjust amp volume but its alright because the wall will take the damage and not the guitar. Be aware that the outlining on the guitar is dark red not black. Even acoustic songs like Bother by Stone Sour or Snuff by Slipknot can be played on this guitar and sound great. If you are a beginner this guitar is perfect for you. This Dean took me a far way from where i started out and I highly recommend it.

I picked this guitar up at a music store in my town at half price because of over stocking. And let me tell you I almost walked out without it. My friend told me to plug it in and play it. I did and left the store with it. I loved Dimebag and loved Dean, this guitar is a great play I am an active musician who plays live alot and our fans say they love the black with zebra pickups look the most I love the clean warm sound and the fact that the pickups will not let you down when you get heavy. A Great Play.

I quit playing back in 1991 and focused more on custom graphics and airbrushing...For about the last year or so I have had the desire to start playing again and while visiting the website I came across the Dean ZX..The moment I saw it I said.."I have to have it",the Dean ZX is styled after one of my favorite guitars.I recieved the Dean ZX a few months ago and have picked it up everyday since...The guitar has a good sound and tone...and the action is great.The Brazilliaburt finish is very impressive and this guitar fits the body nicely...I like this guitar..it kicks a**
