Good...For a Project

I recently purchased this guitar to experiment with some new music styles (i.e., the 7th string). Stock Pickups were okay but with a pair of DiMarzio X2n 7's it screamed. I got dual coil tap and turned it into a dream guitar. Playing for 17 years now, this guitar is a great guitar for the price. But remember, you get what you pay for. This guitar has alot of potential but for the musician that doesnt want to take the time...get a schecter damien 7 or a dean razorback. Both come with better stock pickups and more tone options.

SOUNDS UNDERRATED

I have only heard about this guitar. I am actually saving up for it and because it seems like a good entry level guitar. I own a six string dean ML and it's great. i've played deans and they are a very high quality, bang for your buck type of guitar.

The major problem I'm hearing from multiple posts is that there is a wiring problem and dead frets and what not, well I know from experience with other guitars that that is no reason to ditch it! thats an intonation problem or a pick-up problem that can be fixed fairly cheaply at a local guitar shop! I haven't played this guitar but I have played more expensive ones like the schector Hellraiser, and they are overpriced for what they are. I would buy this because of Dean's track record for making good guitars!!!

this guitar is great for someone wanting to get accustomed to 7-string playing. but i think the benefits only go as far as that. if you read the review posted by abacabbage the buzzing and wiring problem is explained. he's right- it's obnoxious. and it really isn't that reactive to your hands and fingers. but i will say that the novelty of my first seven string pushed me to learn and outgrow the vendetta quickly. i really don't play it much lately because i'd rather play my 6 (sound, playability, and quality is just undeniably superior) than a 7 string made of cheap materials that, frankly, isn't put together very well at all.

I got this guitar around last christmas and i loved it, but i was new to electric guitars at the time. so of course when the input jack got loose i thought it was broken, so i returned. stupid me. From what i remember it had ok pickups, id recommend switching them, but u don't have to. It also had a very thin neck, so it was very comfortable to play. Also, as it says, it surprising light. Lastly, the finish in the picture is nothing what it really looks like, it much more black.

Pretty good for the money

Got this guitar about 4 months ago. I paid 150. i got it used from m local guitar center. I have to start out by saying it looks a lot better than in the hideous pictures on here. well, here we go. Playabilty: After adjusting the action and truss rod to my liking, i still don't really like how the guitar plays, i have a schecter damien 6 string, and it plays very smooth and fluidly. this guitar on the other hand does not really. i like to sweep pick and play fat solos. this guitar feels shard when you play it, notes dont flow very well. not to mention the 4 dead frets. which leads me to the sound, Sound: the stock pickups in this guitar are very weak. which is why i chose to replace the bridge pickup with a dimarzio dsonic-7. Which sounds very good when its not BUZZING. Something is wrong with the wiring in the guitar which causes it to buzz. the buzz is like touching the end of the cable. but constantly. the guitar will go over it. but it makes it much weaker. i've tried to get this fixed 4 times. and none have been successful. i dont even want to play the guitar anymore because of the buzzing. Overall, i would say save some money and buy something a little better. im thinking about the schecter damien 7 myself.
