I fell in love with the looks of this Dean Vendetta 4.0 guitar first off. It is very sleek and elegant. I have a Warlock and a Mockingbird but I wanted something a little faster. I love the way it sounds, handles, and feels. I have played more expensive guitars, the two I own were higher priced but this really performs. Nice fat frets and the neck is very thin and flat but is more playable than the Jackson neck. I don't fatigue even playing longer sets. The electronics are high quality and the pickups are just right for a great all around sound no matter the style, Sabbath to Slayer. I have a friend that plays professionally and he was very impressed with my "out of the box" guitar compared to his expensive guitars. The guitar was professionally set up at a music store when I bought it and I have not regretted this purchase. I recommend to anyone looking for a guitar with great playability. It keeps it in your hands and out of the case longer.

In terms of playability, the Vendetta V4F has it in spades. I would definitely put it in the same class as many of the Fenders I've played. I was able to achieve a very reasonable action after spending a little time on the setup. The humbuckers on this model are adequate, though most finicky players will likely swap them out. My "overall" rating is higher than the other categories because I would give this guitar a five for playability.

The Floyd Rose licensed tremolo is capable of some very deep dives, and the guitar stays in tune quite well. I don't like the fact that three different size allen wrenches are required for a full setup, but once it's done you're in business. If you've never tinkered with this type of arrangement before, don't be intimidated. However, those that are mechanically challenged might want to steer away from Floyd Rose altogether.

The size of this guitar is somewhat diminutive. It is lightweight, and produces a reasonable sustain. Not as much sustain as my LPs, but it is comfortable and attractive. If you are looking for a reasonably priced Strat knockoff with a good tremolo, then this guitar is definitely worth a try.

I got a Dean Vendetta a year ago and I love it. I play everything from blues to heavy metal and this guitar can play it all. I also like the way it looks, with the evil eye inlays and the thru-neck. The only thing I can complain about is the pick ups don't have the crunch I need for the heavier styles of metal I play. I'm thinking about putting in some emg's to make it really roar. Basically, its a great guitar.

This axe rips heads off. I'm normally not a fan of "rounded" guitar bodies but this guitar is the exception. I own multiple high end Deans such as the Explosion Razorback and the Two-Tone Razorback V and in tone this thing rivals them, though the pick-ups aren't to hot. All in all this thing is all top of the line construction and materials for an unbelievable price. Whether you're playing through a 15w Fender combo or a 100w Line 6 Stack (two amps I own) this thing kills.

Ok, this guitar does have some great features. Now lets run down the list. First let me tell you why I bought this. I own a jackson rhoads rr2. I love the guitar but since I am gigging a lot I really don't like bringing it out. So I bought this because the features are great on it almost similar to a rhoads. But it really doesn't meet an of my expectations the neck just seems like a toy neck. Not fast at all not really thin either. Oh yeah the pickups sound very weak as well. But im sorry its not a horrible guitar but if you are buying it to shred and play fast then then this is not the right guitar for you. #1 reason floyd rose will never I repeat never ever stay in tune.
