I GIVE UP ON DEAN PALOMINO !!!

After 3 Dean Palominos I give up! I loved the Sea Green & tried for almost a year to get one.

2/09 - Couldn’t find one online – bought a new one in a store knowing it REALLY needed set-up, however, a local shop looked at it & said the neck was so badly warped it could not be made playable.

12/09 - One became avail. online. Unfortunately, they sent me a Gloss Natural. Just picking-up the guitar I could hear the truss rod was completely free moving inside the neck. Quickly found the intonation was way off. (I did not bother making adjustments.)

12/09, Online seller had a new Sea Green left & sent it to me. I did receive a Sea Green guitar, but quickly noticed a long crack in the finish (top body), permanent black marks (back body) & hundreds of scratches in the plastic film over the pick guard. The plastic film over the pick-ups was removed & reapplied. At best, this was a floor model (played hard), at the worst, it was a previous return due to the defects in the finish.

I barley get to play my Dean

I bought my Dean, Palomino about a year ago and it is by far my most favorite of all my guitars. (2 bass' and three electric) The guy who sold it to me changed out the speed knobs for black top-hat Gibson speed knobs. After that I bought a Bigsby B60 Vibrato Tailpiece. It hooked right up! I had to reset the bridge as it is a floating bridge (big surprise to me). Not a big deal. Also I made a plexiglass pick-guard. Now when I take it somewhere everyone wants to play it, as it plays just as good as it looks if not better! Best value for equipment ever!

I bought this guitar about a month ago. You can get dirty blues, or lush jazz tone with a flick of the 5 position switch. You can adjust the action just like you want it. The neck is very comfortable. This guitar is very versatile for any genre of music. I bought the black one. Definitely a class axe.The 3 P90s give you lots of variation. The guitar is heavy but I can overlook that.I don't regret my choice.

I bought my palomino off of E-Bay for an Excellent price with a case,I couldnt pass it up.I looked at other hollow bodies like Ibanez and Epiphone and was a little reluctant to get the Dean.I grew up playing a 54 Harmony Montclair and this takes me back to when I was a kid.I love the feel AND Sound of this guitar.I have 9's and very low action. The case is a sloppy fit But for the Money I doubt if I would be happier with a Gibson 175.Buy this Guitar.

i have had this guitar for a while now. it is my first electric and i couldnt be happier with it. the neck is comfortable and easy to play and access notes all up and down the neck. the guitar has some weight to it but that full hollobody sound is amazing both acoustic and plugged in. the 3 p-90s are great for multiple tone options. i got this guitar in the sunburst and it looks incredible, some have even confused it with a gibson on first glance. it has a full warm sound plugged in. you can easily get a crisp clean almost acoustic sound to a nice jazzy to a dirty blues sound with the flick of a switch. i love this guitar and everyone is always excited to see it pulled out of its case.
