this guitar is pretty well in my opinion

i got this guitar today at a local guitar shop but i didnt need a foot stand so they took that out and i didnt want the box but anyways this guitar is increadable i probrably wont ever sell it unless im realy poor or homeless this guitar is hands down awsome

Funny, Musicians Friend says the Top is made of select Spruce, but Dean claims solid Cedar. Try to get more information on that if wood types are an important purchasing element for you.

I think Dean says it best in their website: "The Dean Guitars Packs are the Perfect Guitar Starter Kits for the beginning guitar player. Get everything you need to get going on your path to being a true guitar great (practice required!)."

In other words, if you're an intermediate or advanced player, there's very little of interest for you here. Even if you want a "beater" to take to the beach, or whatever, chances are you'll won't need anything other than the guitar in this pack.

That said, even for a beginner, I find this pack to be lacking. The guitar is good for its price, and Dean is a well-known name in the industry, but the rest of the pack is just filler. There's a pitch pipe, a gig bag and a small foot stool.

The gig bag is cool - I like the Dean symbol in the front. The Pitch Pipe can be useful if you're still learning how to tune a guitar (again, this meant strictly for beginners). However, the Foot Stool is a complete waste of space... a cheap strap would be much more welcome.

Bottom-line: If you never held a guitar in your hands before, and can't find a cheaper pack, this is your best choice. If you don't fall into that category, then skip this.
