This is a great guitar for the price. I bought it as an interim guitar while I save up for a higher quality guitar. It looks amazing, tuner is a huge benefit. Also the quarter inch and XLR (mic cable) outputs are a blessing when you realize you forgot a quarter inch, or if you don't have a DI box. However, the pickup is not that great. It takes care of the higher frequencies, but the low end isn't really present without a huge boost. Purchasing an equalizer is recommended! Enjoy this great guitar!

I picked up a American Strat for a pretty good deal and never played it. One day a couple of weeks ago I decided to see what kind of a deal I could make with my local guitar shop. I walked out with a new exotica select Tiger Eye and a Crate amp and a couple other goodies. It's a knockout looks wise. Seriously if you can't play at all you could still hang the thing on a wall as art. It's a decent guitar. The price is about right. I am only giving it average ratings for right now because I haven't given it much of a workout to see how it will sound. From the little I have messed around with it - and oh by the way the tuner that others have mentioned is one of my favorite features - I can't really comment. I will say that the neck has a different feel than my Alvarez AD70SC (which incidentally has about the same price tag.) I suspect that at the end of the day it will perform well and I will like it.

This Dean guitar surprised me right away. The action was lower than I would have imagined. The electronics, especially the tuner is great. The maple top creates a great tone. I can't believe I got this guitar for such a low price. I love it!

Dean went far and above when they created this beauty, I've owned mine for six months now, and play her every day. chording is amazing on it, and it stays in tune very well, even after a couple hours of practice only minimal tuning is required. the tigers eye is perfectly book matched, and the finish is VERY smooth. Only one thing stops this guitar from being a perfect instrument, that being the weight, its quite a bit heavier than most acoustics I have picked up. all in all a wonderful instrument for beginners (like myself) or professionals

Like most Dean products I have used, you are getting way more guitar than what you are paying for. The action is spectacular on this guitar, the internal tuner rocks, and the double outputs are a nice touch. Just a solid guitar all around, if you haven't picked up a Dean Exotica yet you are missing out. Great guitar at this price range.
