Slap Echo!!!!

Just got the pedal tonight and started it up... It hit just the spot for me... I'd been looking for a good slapback sound... I decided to read the reviews afterwards and they kinda made me mad... First off, it doesn't claim to be an echo pedal... If you do not know what slapback is, then look it up... Its a mix of echos and reverb but is not really either... Do not expect this pedal to be either by itself... There may be more versatile slapback boxes out there and there may be higher quality, but this thing hit the spot for me!! I'm really excited... If you're looking for a very natural sounding tone than this is a GREAT start... I may find that I'm totally content to never add another echo or delay box to my setup... My reverb on my amp and this bad boy may be all i need! For twenty bucks, I'm totally elated!! Give it a shot for rockabilly goodness!!!!

If you're looking for an echo/reverb/delay pedal (and you don't know how to use a soldering iron), do not buy this. It is a highly specific piece of equipment and delivers one simple effect that can be tweaked very little. However, it delivers that effect very well and with great consistency. If you're a guitar player and you're going for that vintage surf/rockabilly sound, this pedal is for you.
On the other hand, if you make electronic music/noise, this pedal is severely limited. The slap back sounds pretty good on synth and drum sounds that have very high attack and decay. It can make your drum beats sound like some of that delicious experimental electronic tape stuff from the late 70s and early 80s, but that's about it.
With a little tweaking, however, this thing can be turned into a full blown delay pedal that sounds as good as just about anything on the market. If you're into circuit bending, this pedal makes a great project at a great price.

I got one of these several years ago, I mike woodwinds thru it, and there is only a rare occasion when it is not turned on when playing. It gives me the sound I love so well with all my instruments. The knobs are plastic and snap off easily (I use my feet to control things)and glue back together just as easy. It could use a lil more delay, but I love the concert hall sound. Use it all the time.

This pedal is ok.I bought the Blues pedal board and got this in it. I had a Corned Beef reverb that I used for vocals. So I just decided to swap them because I started using the Corned Beef with my guitar. So now I use the BlT for vocals.

i was a little skeptical at first because all of the slapback sound i'd heard before this were all crappy. but when i plugged this baby in, i was sold! when turned all the way up, it creates a BEAUTIFUL reverb/slapback that can't really be described. when turned down, it's simple echo sounds great for blues. it sounds wonderful on an electric violin too! it sounds better than other higher priced pedals that i've played. if you play surf, island or blues, get this pedal.
