not really a heavy metal sound

I've had this pedal for over a year now and I have to say that I was pretty impressed with the sound you get out of it. But it's not really good for good throwdown metal. Great for thrash like early metallica and some megadeth. In fact, I also use line 6 effects but the danelectro pedal beats the soundout on thrash. The only problem that I have with it is that it doesn't give off good harmonics, it just sounds kind of scratchy. Also, the level knob controls the volume too much. When you turn it up or down, the volume goes along with the level of the distortion (the knob also just fell off one day for no apparent reason). But all in all, it is a pretty good pedal for the price that you pay. Danelectro did a pretty good job. I wouldn't reccomend this for experts though...if you want real quality, go with line 6 for a lot more money.

This pedal is great for its value. It does have some static but it still sounds good. I bought this pedal to replace my old one. I didn't think I would sound to good because of how cheap it was but I was wrong. The pedal only has three knobs a treble, level, and a bass. Its small but it can get very hard sounding. I wound agree that this is a metal pedal and a darn good one too.

I bought this pedal....And here is what I think, Its a good pedal, if you are playing hard rock. But it just lacks the chug and crunch that its supposed to have. I love the pedal because I play some softer and not so heavy metal, but if you are looking for a good pedal for metal, I recommend the Boss Metal Zone.

When I first went on the Danelectro website, I loved the flashy pedals and amazing prices. I finally went out and bought this beauty, and what a great sound. Don't listen to what these other guys say, this is one of the best metal distorts out there. The 3 knobs give you sooo much control and I've used it in countless shows and has lasted me for over a year. Maybe if these other guys took more care of their pedals they would work better. Keep up the AWESOME work

I used this with my Traynor Reverb Mate 40 and it was okay for about three months then BAM. For no apparent reason the thing puked. Originally the pedal produced a constant stream of feedback but, the tone was not to awful, then the feedback stopped. After that you could not hear higher pitches, also the sustain disappeared and the distortion a horribly crackling mess. Oh, well. It was fun while it lasted.
