I may consider this my new secret weapon. For the price I just had to try one and I've been running from amp to amp like a kid at a candy store. Better than any distortion pedal, it can turn even my tamest tube amp into a raging beast. Silent until you add an amount of boost that you'd expect noise. (+15 dB boost people...) For tube amps only.

I bought this some time ago to use it as part of my guitar rig, but I started hosting an Open Mic Night, and now use it in the FX Loop of my powered mixer (part of a 100w Audio Choice PA). PERFECT. Velcro it right to the top, use two couplers to connect, and boom, ready to go.

The guy saying it's noisy might be daisy chaining it or using an adaptor, because with a battery in there, it's silent. Running it with all frequencies and the volume flat, the most I notice it do is add slight volume to the signal, but no buzzing or hiss.

The only things I don't like about it are: 1) The jacks are at the top and not the sides, so for a pedal rig, I find that awkward, but for the FX Loop in the PA, it's not bad. 2) It's a bit tedious to get the battery inside.

The price is right for a 7-bander. Rock it.

A great, cheap pedal that'll help in any setup

I bought this to try to improve my guitar tone. It's awesome, but it has some flaws. First off, the output and input jacks are on the top, which isn't a huge deal, but it's an annoyance when you're connecting others pedals to it that have it on the side. Also, the switch to activate the pedal is a joke. It doesn't even click, and it's virtually impossible switch it on and off while playing. Another bad thing, it adds a lot of hum, so if you don't have a noise suppressor, you're in for some serious noise. Even with these problems, this pedal is totally worth it. You can add a ton of depth to shape your distorted or clean tones. Get it, you won't be disappointed

This thing, for its price, is absolutely as good as it gets. No tone suck, just does exactly what you want it to do. I use it pretty regularly in my board to brighten up my gibson lp studio that I run into my Bogner Alchemist head via a quite extensive pedalboard. Features get a 3.5 due to the small footprint and plastic case. If you're not the regularly gigging musician, or the guy who switches his boxes on and off all the time, then I totally reccomend this little guy. cheap, efficient, not exactly tough, but it'll do just fine.

Unreliable

This pedal helped me improve my tone greatly. However, it is extremly unreliable. The input and output jacks are rubbish and create a horrible noise if your 1/4 inch cables aren't in the "right" postion coming in and out. It also adds loads of hum on my signal chain. I've tried to use this pedal, but it's gone out one to many times while playing live.
