Danelectro puts the D-2 FAB Overdrive Guitar Effects Pedal in your hands without wiping out your financial portfolio. History was made in 1975 when a mom-and-pop store in California commissioned the production of just 200 of what is perhaps the best guitar overdrive effect ever. Unlike any other effects unit, that pedal authentically simulated the breakup that occurs when a tube amp is run at full volume. You will occasionally see an original in the stage rig of a major artist. IF you could find an original offered for sale, you should probably sit down before inquiring about the price . . . The Danelectro D-2 FAB Overdrive pedal features Level, Tone, and O.D. controls.

Danelectro D-2 FAB Overdrive Guitar Effects Pedal Features:

  • Realistic tube overdrive
  • Responsive
  • Versatile
  • Level, Tone, and O.D. (Overdrive) knobs

Seriously saturated tube amp tone in a sweet Dano box. How can you go wrong? Order the D-2 today!

Um, One Small Problem

I bought this pedal specifically to add more drive to my tone while playing "Smells Like Teen Spirit" with my band. It did that great, and much more besides. It is a very versitile pedal, with simple controls, but then something happened. I had been storing it in the back fo my amp, and one day the magenet in the amp's speaker stuck to it, frying the circuits and completely disabling my pedal. It's a great buy, just don't store it in an amp.

I bought this pedal to really see what it can do. By far it can do alot. I can get from a bluesy OD sound to a 80's high gain heavy metal sound. The only thing that makes me worry is that the pedal is made out of plastic, I honestly dont know how durable it is but the plastic seems to stand pretty well.If you are going to get this, its a good idea. You'll be happy with it.

I don't get it

Yes, it's cheap. Yes, it adds some overdrive vibe. Maybe I just don't get what overdrive is. The problem is that I'd need to use an outboard eq after the D-2 to keep it from drastically altering the tone. I like the fuzzy quality of an overdrive but I don't want to lose the high end sparkle that I lose when I use this. Any guitar amp that has an overdrive channel is going to do a better job of keeping your tone where you want it. But in a pinch this will do. To get an idea of what I mean compare this to just using a tube preamp and you can tell right away how much the D-2 changes the overall tone.

Pretty Darn Good For A $20 Pedal

This peddle for the money is AMAZING! I think it is vey underated, and it is somewhat loud and crunchy for an overdrive pedal. I actually used this pedal as a distortion pedal on a type of amp at one point, (don't go to crazy from this thinking that it is a good dstortion pedal). It sounds very bluesy on the right settings, but it has some buzzing which it never did when I bought it. Good pedal, havn't used it on stage, but I would say for the price, just go ahead and try it out for fun, if you don't like it, then get a really good overdrive pedal. I actually picked up a use Dan Electro FAB chorus pedal, and so, I think that this allplies for all Dan Electro FAB pedals. I would also like to point out that this pedal brings fast shredding out pretty well.

This thing does what it is supposed to. Its got 3 knobs which gives you a lot of different sounds. It is made out of plastic on the top so the quality is a bit iffy. I bought mine with the adapter and I get absolutely no hum from it unless I stand too close to the amp. Most people have a problem with Dano pedals because of the hum, but those people are usually the ones who are too cheap to fork out the $ to get an adapter.
