I love this pedal. It is so fuzzy. I crank it all the way up, but you can be light on the fuzz if you want. I am now going to purchase the full line of cool cats. This is a very sturdy pedal. Its all metal, and I would fell 100% comfortable gigging with this. Super pedal, my favorite.

i bought for the whole grunge sound and at first didn't really know how to set it up just right. do i had to toy with it for a little bit and finally got the nirvana sound i was looking for. and after toying with a little bit more i got a more punk sound with it to. (and if you want and even closer sound try buying the danelectro daddy o pedal to hook up with this pedal and you'll get an even more grungier sound that would sound similar to cobain's.) and you definitely can't beat the price.

but didn't really float my boat. I was hoping for traditional FuzzFace sounds in a more convenient form factor, but this one is sort of a mutant cross between a fuzzface and a big muff. Outrageous and over the top for sure, but I didn't like the big wooly mammoth bottom end that you couldn't dial out. If you're into some huge stoner rock wall of fuzz sounds with big bottom end you might want to check it out... at this price it would be a crime not to.

The Cool Cat fuzz has that nice fresh squeezed orange juice taste. And it is toatlly NICE and SEEDLESS as far as value is concerned. The 3 levels of Fuzz, Tone and Volume can be adjusted as to provide a subtle texture or a psychodelic crunch. The beauty of this fuzz, beside the cost, is when the guitar volume can be turned down as to retain the tone of the instruement and amp, then with a twist of the guitars volume knob, the juice begins to pour out in the mix and scream. Another nice addition is when Two fuzzes are together with tone and fuzz adjustments at minimum and maximum as to dial in various levels of sonic mayhem. And when the guitar volume is lowered, the buzz and distortion disappear. This fuzz is also very tastey with tube amps and coupled with the FAB Echo, then the sound tends to open up. The Cat Fuzz is made in China, but I enjoy it moreso than the trebley EHX Metal Muff. Will it last 20 years? Can it be modded like the Fab Echo? Who knows, but the value and taste of the fresh squeazed fuzziness is a citrus lovers delight. Go crazy and bite into a couple before the frost comes along and all the prices jump through the roof. Try the golden Transparent Overdrive too. The cost to tone ratio is outstanding.

So apparently there has been a lot of hype about the Cool Cat pedals and for good reasons. The special thing about these is each pedal is ehem... "inspired" by some other great pedal on the market, but danelectro doesn't feel like robbing you or giving you that devilish feeling of superiority because of the size of your wallet. This particular pedal is based... ehem "inspired" on a good ol Frantone Peachfuzz. Go online, compare the two and use that analytical part of your brain that allowed us to be more than monkeys and tell me that 300 dollars is worth the difference in name. Get your Cool Cats soon before the lawyers do.
