The Crate V18-112 combo features a single-channel 18W Class A design with gain and master volume controls, 3-band EQ, and spring reverb for awesome tone and versatility. Its dual cathode-biased EL84 output tubes pump their searing mojo into a single 12" speaker.

Can't go wrong with this low cost amp

Been using this amp for about a month now. The V18-112 sounds great right out of the box. I might experiment with different tubes and/or speaker later but for right now I'm really happy with the way it sounds. I'm glad I got mine when I had the chance. This amp could very well be the deal of the year. Very happy with it.

I'm really impressed with this amp. I normally play on a Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier half stack, but that simply won't work in an apartment. This amp is a little bit loud for that to (don't let 18 watts fool you - this thing can rip), but i can get decent tone at low volume. I was looking for a smaller tube amp that wouldn't break the bank and this is it. As others have said the reverb is way over the top if you turn it up, but leave it down and it sounds fine. This amp is very bass heavy - but nothing a BBE sonic maximizer or EQ pedal can't fix. I know people have suggested changing the speaker and reverb tank, but this amp really does have a decent sound stock. I'd recommend this over any solid state modeling amp any day.

NICE AMP FOR THE PRICE

I was looking for a practice amp and ran across this one as was curious. After several months of looking I finally decided to try it out. For the price, this is a nice amp! It doesn't have a lot of features, but, given the price and simplicity of the controls, you can't go wrong. Some of the negatives are, It does have a lot of bass to it and no bright switch but it will HOWL!! For 18 watts this thing screams! I was not too sold on it in the begining, however, with a few pedals and one of them being an EQ pedal, I was able to achieve a real close facsimile of My fender HRD. It still is not as bright with the EQ as the HRD but, It sounds good enough that I can practice with it as well as feel confident to gig with it too. I've only had mine for about a month and only use it one a week for practice. I hope it holds up well as I do plan on gigging with it. I will comment on it in the future to report back on it durability. By the way, the 5 year warranty is nice too. For the price and value, this is one NICE AMP!!

I got suckered into the hype on these amps. Yes, they are the most inexpensive combo amp out there. There is a reason for that. The reverb is only usable at 1 and it's pushing it at that. There is no clean headroom in the amp and the distortion sounds worse than my Crate GTD15 solid state practice amp. Save your money and buy a Blackheart or a Valve Junior.

This amp is well-built and packs a wallop! Clean sound can crack walls, overdrive is good. Reverb isn't the best, but I don't need it much. An electric/acoustic sounds LIKE AN ELECTRIC/ACOUSTIC. My strat just LOVES it. This thing's got GUTS. At this price, buy it!
