Needs more power

I am reviewing the Crate Flexwave 120H Halfstack. I am a guitarist with 20+yrs exp. Played through many different setups. I have only owned solidstate amps and have to say my combo amp 2X12 Fender is just as powerful. The only difference is the projection of the sound due to the 4X12 cab. I also get comments to turn up when on stage because they cannot hear. The overall sound of the Flexwave is really good. The effects are sufficient, although I don't use them. I currently run through Boss and Dunlop. Crate has always had monster crunch on all levels though. Hats off in that department. If you have a band that can control stage levels and the house setup is good, then I recommend this amp. It would be enough. But if you require louder stage volume (louder is better), then this amp may not be for you. I am overall quite happy with the Flexwave. Crate customer service is fantastic as well. Very helpful.

I've owned many amps, including a crate GFX-212 and I have to say that the gentleman who thinks his 2x12 gets louder than this must have a defective head or just hasn't tweaked around with it enough! This thing Roars! It has sparkling clean tone to dark and evil clean tone...it has high-gain DISTORTION for face melting and tamer overdrive for blues...all without losing your tone and depth. The only thing missing on this for me was an effects loop...but hey, the only one who's whining and crying over here is my ESP LTD MH-1000 and my Crate Flexwave Half Stack! You Won't be dissapointed. Period.

This amp is better than any floor combo amp I have tried recently. If you play rock, metal, this amp is perfectly designed for that. The tone is fat, and I dont really need pedals anymore. The resonance is awesome on the fat rock chords, almost sounds stereo with the Flat Cab. Very responsive, harmononics sound awesome. If you like to play Rush, Progressive, Zep, Nu, Glam, this amp lets you emulate all your favorite standards. The CLean channel is super clean and warm, not tinny and scattered. The switching between clean and gain-distortion is right on. For playing in a loud rock band, a PA can help, otherwise for small gigs and practice,this amp excels. I live in an apartment and I can get decent tone and crunch without cranking it, I love it. After considering floor amp combos, this bit of an upgrade to a 4x12 flatcab on the flexwave head is a world of difference in terms of responsiveness, flexibility, and tone quality. Crate gave me the ability to re-visit some old favorites, and has inspired some new ideas. I have new love for clean channel. I tested this amp at the store with a guitar that had EMG's, Wow! I play a Charvel model 4 thru it now, awesome rock fat lead and crunch tones with the Crate.

All i have to say is that im a professional musician and this amp is GREAT. One of the best Clean sounds ive ever heard. The distortion channels are awesome if u get the right tones with ur guitar.

The sounds can go from blues to metal. If ur looking for a quality amp for a great price, this is the amp for you!
