I just happened to find this in a local guitar store about 6-7 months ago, and I just had to pick it up and play it. After all, a guitar as unique looking and sounding as this (not to mention lovingly played by the great Django) can't go without a 'test drive'. Well, a few strums and fretboard runs was all it took. I was hooked! I can't remember how I pulled off paying for it (either my wife was very accomodating, or I pawned something) but am I glad I did. Be advised, though, this is by no means meant to be played like a dreadnought or jumbo; this baby is crafted specifically for gypsy jazz. Hearing its distinctive (and loud) tone will convince you of that -- this wasn't made for playing hair-metal ballads! A couple of pointers: get yourself genuine Argentine gypsy jazz strings and the thickest pick you can find. These are imperative to getting the truest tone out of the O-5. Oh, one last thing: the 'zero-fret' is as much a contributor to its tone and character as the unique soundhole and mustache bridge. It really adds sustain and clarity. I feel bad that I gave a 9 to features; it's only because I am very picky about tuners and these are era-authentic so the gear ratio isn't that great. On the other hand, they're a heck of a lot better than about any 'store brand' guitar. Yes, I love it!

Great value. Sounds mellower than other brands of Gypsy style guitars. I like The Cordoba better than the Saga John Jorgensen model that sells for more than 2X the price. The Cordoba is easier to play and sound fuller in the mid-range. The top does poop out when I really dig in. But it's plenty loud by then, and I'm thinking that with a little aging of the real spruce top, this guitar will get even louder. I've been playing out since 1960, I honestly recommend this guitar!
