The 45FM is Cordoba's premium student flamenco guitar made from figured sycamore sides and back and a European spruce top. This guitar is designed to be lightweight and very responsive to the touch. The 45FM has a steeper angled headstock than classical guitar models, lower bridge and action height and the lightest possible polyurethane finish. Appearance: Top seems to be 2-piece but not matched. Rosette very nice. Head has a nice lamination of rosewood. Tuners not the cheapest but not the best. Back of neck had a pitch pocket. Back of soundbox seems matched but I could not see a seam from the inside. So if it is a lanimated back, that's a nice touch. Lacquor is way too thick and gives the instrument a plastic look that I think detracts from the appearance.

The sound: This is really the most important feature. I didn't waste time with the cheap strings that came with the instrument but put on Savarez high tension. I am well pleased with the sound. The instrument "barks" as a flamenco guitar should. This is the third flamenco guitar I have owned and if it is your first be prepared for it to sound different than a classical guitar. It's not supposed to sound like a classical. The volume in even across and up the fingerboard. It is not the "sweet" sound that you would expect from a classical but it is a sound you will come to love.
