i use this on bass and the learning curve for this pedal is pretty steep. i use 12 pedals and i put the CM C & B right after the amp (its the first pedal in my chain, followed by Aphex bass X, BBE Sonic Stomp, etc.).

this thing is pretty hard to understand at first because it seems to act like a parametric EQ (something the manual ddnt make clear). set 2 frequencies to sweep in the hi and lo area and then boost it via the hi gain and lo gain knob.

in my case with the bass, the hi area seems to determine the overall volume while the low area is responsble for that "svt like rumble."

this pedal is not an EQ because no matter how you tweak it, you can never set it flat. you may be able to set it a way that it doesnt OD, but it would still be definitely be louder than your clean sound.

if you get this pedal alone, you will notice its prominent boost on the mids (we are talking bass, aight?) ... its bad with some basses and good on others. i love mixing this one with a sansamp BDI though... youll get closer to the ampeg sound with that.

i think this pedal is expensive and is a gamble. test it first before you get it. there were many times i tried to sell this but nobody bought it... so i guess i just made it work in my set up. this pedal is not for the plug and play type of bass player. for guitars, this thing is easier to tweak.

this is the best pedal for getting that heavy deep sound like slayer and slipknot it also has a great range of effects. It sounds best when it in the effects loop of an amp. and or when you tune the guitar from low to high (B E A D G C)or (E A D G C F
