The compact Bugera V5 Tube Guitar Combo runs on 1 power and 1 preamp tube and is all dressed up in classic 2-tone vinyl. The 5W amplifier's bone-simple controls give the Bugera V5 the look of a carefully constructed nostalgia trip. In fact, in many ways, it is! But plug into this beautiful little 8" combo amp and you'll not only find a sound that's caked in real vintage raunch, but you'll also have modern features that take this sound to places it couldn't go—until now.

Rock music brings to mind amplifiers as big as skyscrapers, dishing out irreversible ear damage at ruthless volumes. But a studio secret among guitar greats is that little low-watt valve combos like the V5 can be maxed out for red-hot overdriven tone without blowing fuses or incurring any property damage.

The Bugera V5 is a living, breathing homage to those half-pint screamers of the past, but with 2 very important improvements. See, this amp may be small, but 5W in Valvesville is still loud as hell when it's sitting in your bedroom. That's why the V5 combo amp features a switchable power attenuator —to reduce the amplitude of the signal without changing its sound—so you can run it at 5, 1, or 0.1 watts.

Finding a headphone out jack on an all-valve guitar amp is incredibly rare because the integration requires loading the output transformer and filtering the signal for a loudspeaker simulation. (Translation: it's a real pain in the patoot!) But true to form, Bugera has gone the extra mile to make late night practicing possible. Just plug a pair of headphones into the 1/4" phones jack on the back panel, and you're ready to keep the V5's all-valve sound all to yourself.

Then again, if it's more volume you need, the Bugera V5 amp has a 1/4" Speaker Out jack to connect an additional speaker with a minimum impedance of 4 Ohms.

This dangerous dandy also features the same studio-caliber digital reverb found in bigger Bugera amplifiers. The spring reverb found in the V5 amp's post-war predecessors sounds lovely, but is delicate and expensive to repair. This modern V5 update gives you an equally mesmerizing vintage reverb sound without the wallet-draining vintage amp's lack of reliability.

With a Bugera V5 Tube Combo amp in your home or studio, your tonal woes are over. The V5 brings the true sound of an antique 5W valve amp. It's built to survive abuse, and its price tag is tons lighter than the ones you'll find tied to its elders. Adopt a Bugera V5 tube combo amp today and get ready to pack 60 years of sonic inspiration into your recording or practice sessions.

I wanted to get a small tube amp for my home studio to get some different tones in my recordings and for $150 this little guy caught my eye. Well, don't let the size fool you. I've been using this amp with a regular Boss overdrive pedal and you can get some great crunch. From the recordings, you'd never guess such a little amp was making such a roar. I took another poster's advice and switched out the stock tube with a Electro Harmonix 12AX7 and I think that also contributes to the great sound I'm getting.

Bottom line - if you want that classic tube amp sound but you don't want to pay an arm and a leg, give this one a try. I'm glad I did.

Grab your import guitar and a low end multi effects pedal, then prepare to be wowed. The V5 is the dream of every budget guitarist that has ever wanted tube tone. This is my best purchase in years because it finally gave my sound all the nuances I've wanted from a tube amp but couldn't afford. The price is unbeatable for a great looking amp with 12AX7 pre and EL84 power tubes. Reverb is a great addition and something I've missed when I tried out other budget tube amps (that were eventually returned). Comsemtically appealing enough that your wife or girlfriend may let you keep it out in the open!

UNBELIEVABLE LITTLE AMP!

My ears are dumbfounded. I bought this after reading the other reviews and for the fact in had the 5/1/0.1 power attenuation. I thought it would be a decent amp to practice and maybe record at low levels but I did not expect an amp of this quality. From the look, feel, construction, and most importantly, the SOUND! this amp is now my new favorite. The clean reverb tones are equal (if not better) than my Fender Twin Reverb and the drive provides a warm crunch with all the reaction and color you would expect from a vintage tube amp. If the quality and tone is any representation of the rest of the Bugera line I will be trading in my Twin Reverb for the 55W in the near future.

Great little amp

I needed a new amp, my junky old solid state died and I wanted to go tube. Times are tight so my budget did not allow until I got a little extra money as a gift and looked at this little amp. I figured if it worked fairly well it was still better than s broken solid state and I would only be out a little. I was more than pleasantly surprise. This little amp sounds really good. Great clean on 5W and nice drive on 1W, .1W is pretty worthless unless you are wanting to play while the kids are sleeping and you don't have headphones(nice touch bugera). The verb is a little wet, can't use it much past 4-5 unless you do a lot of delay. My only gripe is that it doesn't give you a footswitch to control the verb and the drive so you could play it really clean and then drive that gain with the switch. I will just have to get the volume set to where I can roll it back to clean it up. Haven't tried it with my distortion pedals yet, but I may not use my DS-1 much anymore (never liked it much anyway). All in all, great little purchase. I don't need more wattage when I just have to mic it to go into the PA anyway. A steal at the price. Definetely get it if you are thining about it, worse case is you are out $150 and you give it to some kid learning to play.

First off I would like to say that this is an awesome amp, I recieved it as a gift from a friend it plays great and has great response. The only thing that I wished it had was a little more gain so that you could use it more situations, this isn't a great problem for me because I play classic rock and blues but if you are more of a metal/ hard rock/ anything else that needs to really push an amp this is not the amp for you
