Right-facing

The Budda BudWah Wah Pedal uses a custom inductor that is voiced to produce the midrange honk of vintage wahs without the top-end harshness. At bass settings, the tone is thick and honky without losing note clarity. When accentuating the highs, a carefully selected roll-off frequency ensures the BudWah isn't piercing like many wahs. A tight and focused tone sweep produces an outstanding vocal-like quality. Circuitry features a hard-wire bypass; custom coil inductor inspired by the vintage Fasel inductor; full-ground plane board for noiseless operation; and a beefy, reliable switch.

Just another Dunlop Pedal

When I got my Budwah pedal I noticed the red circuit board when I opened the battery compartment. Sure enough, I opened it up to find Dunlop's circuit board. Nothing new just paying a higher price for the name.

Musicians Friend Swap

I entered a review earlier. The Budda Wah I ordered was defective. Musicians friend emailed me a return label and shipped another right away. All I had to do was drop the old one at UPS. The Wah is sweet; Musicians Friend is great!

Is it defective?

I just got my BudWah from MF. Plugged it in - PRS CU 24/ Fender Super Reverb RI - and gave it a run. Bypassed it was clean; switched on, it was almost like a constant, high pitched feedback. No sweep, no range, just a minor change to the noise. I tried it with a battery (new) and with a 9v power supply. Same results. I'm shipping it back.

Buttery Tone
Posted by Mister Boston from Quincy, MA on Jan 16, 2009
Experience w/product: I own it
Reviewer's Background: Gigging Musician
Reviewer's Play Style: Funk, Classic Rock, Blues
Got mine about a week ago. I play funk, jam, and classic rock so the wah pedal has ALWAYS been an important part of my arsenal. I've gone through the usual ones over the years, a few Cry Babies, a Vox, a Tech 21, but NONE of them get that smooth, sexy funk-butter tone like the Budda. I've owned more VERSATILE wah pedals before, and I've owned wahs that handle ultra high-gain sounds a bit better. But if you just want a pure booty-shakin' tone machine accept no substitutes. This is just IT.

awesome wah - best I've had

This is a step up from the standard Dunlop Cry Baby, etc. Fantastic sweep and very smooth tones. I never really cared for wah pedals until I got this one. With good foot control you can almost perfectly emulate the flanger sweep on Eruption. One caveat: get the AC adapter. This thing eats batteries - one 9 volt is good for about 3 days...
