Unsurpassed playability and craftsmanship. |
The AD20/SM is a solid Sitka spruce top and solid mahogany-back dreadnought with a big, bold sound and attitude, ready to jam. This Atlas Series acoustic features a tortoise bound body with BWBWB purfling, abalone rosette with black border, abalone dot fingerboard inlays, glossy finish, hand rubbed neck, dovetail neck joint, dual-action truss rod, and gold Grover tuners.
Breedlove crafts acoustic instruments that reflect the principles of uncompromising craftsmanship, environmental consciousness, and customer focus. The best aspects of traditional guitar making are fused with new ideas and relevant technology to create instruments with unsurpassed tone, feel, and visual appeal.
Each spectacular instrument in the Atlas Series is designed and engineered to attain these same qualities at an accessible price. They feature scalloped bracing, a pinless bridge, a dual-action truss rod, and the JLD Bridge Truss System. The bridge, fingerboard, and peghead overlay on each model is made from Indian rosewood and tops are crafted from solid wood. They have an ebony end pin, dovetail neck joint, and a slightly narrower nut (1-11/16"). All models have the same low string action for fast, comfortable playing. They're all set up and hand-inspected at Breedlove headquarters and come strung with light-gauge D'Addario EXP strings.

Breedlove's, even the Atlas series are amazing instruments. The manufacturing tools the Korean plant uses are the same the custom shop uses in Oregon. What is so great about this dreadnought? Breedlove's resonating low end, and high end sparkle. What's amazing to me is that it sounds just as good to the player as the listener. The solo line with the sound monitor is cool too, but this model does the same without it. I have owned mine for about four years and it has really opened up into an even more beautiful sound than when it was new. I liked the models with built in pickup systems when I was shopping for a guitar, but really wanted a great sounding acoustic. So I purchased this model and added a K and K pure western pick up. I have the best of both worlds. I would love to have a custom model eventually, but this really is a nice guitar as I improve my playing.

This guitar is amazing, great tone. Very full sounding, Comparable to low end martin's and taylor's. i waited a little over a month to go back and actually buy this guitar for my birthday, it's just a wonderful acoustic guitar. and i recomend it for anyone that loves to play, for the price and for the tone. This is a good buy.

A buddy of mine just got this guitar and I had the pleasure of trying it out. I've gotta say, it's an awsome instrument. I've played high dollar Martins and Taylors that didn't play or feel nearly as good as this one does. Great action (like an electric), great tone, great feel great everything. And at this price, it would be PLAIN STUPID not to buy one. I'm definately gonna get me one of these. I'm still in awe of how cheap it is and how well it plays. I'm not saying that it's "good for the price"...I'm saying that it's very comparable to high dollar Taylors and Martins for a fraction of the price. And I personlly think it plays and sounds better. And it's solid front and back will insure that it's tone will improve with age. My mind is blown and I want one.

I had played the AD20 guitar numerous times and really liked it. It sounds and plays as well as the lower end Martins and Taylors. Guitar arrived in the outstanding gig bag (really almost a case), in perfect condition. Only thing I didn't like were the strings it came with. Changed to Martin SP and all is good. Awesome sounding guitar, love playing it.

I tried the very nice AD25/SR Plus. Very sweet but too much treble and way too fancy for a beanbag guy like me. Why would I need all that abalone and amplification? So I exchanged it for this AD20/SM for about half the price. The mahogany is much warmer for a rhythm strummer like me and it's still plenty pretty to my eyes. Opened the box, tuned up, and played some "Ramble On", "Here Comes My Girl", some BTO, some Nirvana "About a Girl", rounded it out with some soulful Isley's "Voyage to Atlantis" and some good ol' R&B Brothers Johnson "I'll Be Good To You" and brought a big smile to my face. Breedlove makes the best guitars for the money, hands down. I got a new acoustic because I gave my faithful old Washburn to my 11 year old daughter as a step up from her cheap beginner's guitar to continue her musical journey in style. The AD20/SM was definitely the right choice for me. Don't think I'll need another acoustic as long as I live. Want? Maybe...absolutely. But need? Never.
