I went through three other travel guitars before getting to this one (the Martin Backpacker, the Washburn Rover, and one from Lark in the Morning). This one had the best tone hands down. It actually sounds great in standard tuning although they say it's made for an "A" tuning. I found that it played a little too tight in that tuning. It's worth the extra money.

I have owned this guitar for 3 weeks now and can hardly put it down. I wanted a mini for travel purposes and was leaning towards a Baby Taylor or Martin. A friend let me try out his Taylor and Martin Backpacker and neither really did anything for me. I then saw the Breedlove Passport, and though I had not played a Breedlove before their general reputation made this worth taking a shot on. I am so glad I did. There were NO quality issues. The playability exceeds the comparable Martin and Taylor offerings, and the tone is incredible. I am also exceedingly happy with the electronics, which sound fantastic through both my Fender Twin and Line 6 Spider. If you are looking for a travel guitar, I doubt you will find much better than this one.

More a hatchet than an axe... but fun!

After reading good reviews of the C25 Passport it seemed to be a great option for a camping or daytrip guitar. When first strummed I was surprised to find I could barely hear the instrument. I expected a "smaller" sound, but this was not right. Upon inspection, both wings of the bridge were lifted from the top. No contact, no transmission of vibration. Back to the dealer. The replacement guitar had a very small area,(1/8 inch or so) of lift on the treble side of the bridge. This I fixed myself. Sonically the second guitar was quite surprising. Shimmering highs and much more low-end than expected. The cedar top had grain that was straighter and tighter than on some big bucks guitars. Best of all with a little dialing out of the high end, the Baggs system made the little pistol sound like a cannon. Neat. So if your willing to play the hit or miss game, the Passport may be your ticket to having a fun, playable, quality instrument with you nearly anytime you feel inspired.
