The AC250/SM may be the most playable 12-string you've ever laid hands on. |
The small, concert-size body delivers supreme playing comfort and a surprisingly big sound thanks to the expertly braced solid spruce top and deep body. Crafted to reproduce all the shimmering 12-string overtones, it comes with Fishman Classic IV electronics. It has black body binding, an abalone soundhole rosette with black border, abalone dot fingerboard inlays, satin finish, hand-rubbed neck, and chrome Grover tuners.
Breedlove crafts acoustic instruments that reflect the principles of uncompromising craftsmanship, environmental consciousness, and customer focus. The best aspects of traditional guitar making are fused with new ideas and relevant technology to create instruments with unsurpassed tone, feel, and visual appeal.
Each spectacular instrument in the Atlas Series is designed and engineered to attain these same qualities at an accessible price. They feature scalloped bracing, a pinless bridge, a dual-action truss rod, and the JLD Bridge Truss System. The bridge, fingerboard, and peghead overlay on each model is made from Indian rosewood and tops are crafted from solid wood. They have an ebony end pin, dovetail neck joint, and a slightly narrower nut (1-11/16"). All models have the same low string action for fast, comfortable playing. They're all set up and hand-inspected at Breedlove headquarters and come strung with light-gauge D'Addario EXP strings.

My Best 12 String!

Wow just got this today! Bought a 2nd but can't find any flaws in it. I had to lower the action but what a beautiful guitar! The lows are spine chilling! The crisp sound of the fishman electronics are hair raising! This plays and sounds better than some mid level Taylos and Martins at half the price. A very light and little guitar with an amazing punch! You go Breedlove!

I've been working my way up the 12-string ladder for almost 40 years -- a half-dozen of them, each one better than the last. The Breedlove Atlas AC250/SM-12 is my next-to-the-last stop. I dreamed of and tried out "affordable" Martins and Taylors, then a couple of years ago, I visited Breedlove's factory in Tumalo, Ore., where I test-drove the tippy-top model. Exquisite sound, dazzling looks. The only thing the $10,000 guitar has over the Atlas model is the looks. So until I can afford the myrtlewood baby, I am tickled to death to play this "junior" Breedlove. Whether I'm finger-picking a worship song or strumming jazz chords or pounding out bluegrass, this 12 is up to it. I could play for hours -- and often do. Set-up from the retailer was smack-on; Grover tuners are a dream to work with; Fishman electronics deliver that sparkling acoustic sound through my Behringer mixer/Kustom speaker setup. Whether worshiping -- or wooing the Missus -- I've got an armful of class that I hope lasts me the rest of my life. With the sound and playability ofthis Breedlove Atlas, I can live without myrtlewood.

I just got it last week-end and have played it everyday since. I have a 6 String Breedlove, AC-25SR+, and was disappointed that it needed a fretdress before I could really play it like I wanted. With that experience behind me I was a little skeptical of getting another Breedlove. I checked the neck and played it for a while and found the action to be very very nice. The smaller AC body it very comfortable for my 5'2" frame and the sound is so smooth. All of the strings were perfect together, none trying to take the lime light from the other. I love this guitar. It is my second 12-string and has found a place on my all-time favorites list.

The action is like nothing I have ever experienced. While I am not a professional guitar player, I have been playing all my life - for pleasure. This guitar has changed everything. Plugged or unplugged.... Amazing. Now, I WANT to form a band, and feel that this instrument is capable of maybe, more than I am..! lol --- Highly recommended.

I recently purchased a Breedlove Atlas AC250 12 string. I was amazed at its tone and playability. While shopping, I also played a Taylor 454ce, Martin J12-16GT, and Takamine EG523SC12, and was most impressed with the Breedlove. Hands down one of the best playing and sounding 12 string guitars: especially for the price.
